Honey Comb Month of September by Christina Farris 09/01/2015The simplicity of scripture is probably both fully realized upon opening the word of God, yet the complexity can only be seen by each spiritual truth received. I had an elderly lady in my life that often quoted more scripture then I probably will ever have memorized. The above picture was one of her favorite quote. Whether honey was really good for the bones as far as general health I do not know, but many health sites claim the benefits of honey in regards to certain ailments including arthirist and fibromyalgia. Yet I can not make such a claim for I have not eaten honey in years. However what I have seen online makes me wonder if a spoonful a day might just have some benefit to me. Yet I know pleasant words are beneficial to all that hear them. I know that God's word is true. I know that the ancients would of learned a few things over the years that would of helped when someone was hurting or sick. The words of truth of honeycomb. Let us remember the benefits of obeying God's word and try hard to show a little pleasantry in words this week even when angered. Time changes things. People have the power to change if they know the Changer of lives. His Word is beneficial to the soul as pleasant words are to the soul. For God's word heals the soul and pleasant words effect the soul of man. |
Prayer For The Elderly by Christina Farris 09/1/2015Today I am reminded to pray for the elderly and Grandparents. When I was born I had the awesome meeting of all my grandparents of both sides of the family, along with few of my great grandparent and Great Aunts and Uncles. Most now are all gone, yet a few remain perhaps to remind me of the wisdom and truth of the words of the elderly. I did not have the benefits of seeing my elders often as some do, but I have always been surround by older people through out my life. They often give wisdom and have compassion learned over the years not necessarily always instanteous as one might think. Compassion is learned and a true gift from God. To have compassion on the elderly is a gift but also a command. Most will grow old unless accidents or illness occurs to take their young life away. To learn to be old is to observe the generation before. To grow old with dignity is to learn to follow after God and to listen to His Word. To follow after those elders that strive in following His word. Old people can add to one life a benefit of old tales and know how that books can not supply. Dear Heavenly Father thank you for the elderly in my life, those who have gone before me to meet those pearly gates knowing the truth of your word. Help those in nursing homes, hospice care, and at home, especially those that spend many hours alone without their love ones so near. Give them the hope of those pearly gates that enter a place called heaven. In Jesus precious name, Amen. |
