Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Ecclesiastes 6:1-12 KJV
1 There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, and it is common among men:
2 A man to whom God hath given riches, wealth, and honour, so that he wanteth nothing for his soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat thereof, but a stranger eateth it: this is vanity, and it is an evil disease.
3 If a man beget an hundred children, and live many years, so that the days of his years be many, and his soul be not filled with good, and also that he have no burial; I say, that an untimely birth is better than he.
4 For he cometh in with vanity, and departeth in darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness.
5 Moreover he hath not seen the sun, nor known any thing: this hath more rest than the other.
6 Yea, though he live a thousand years twice told, yet hath he seen no good: do not all go to one place?
7 All the labour of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled.
8 For what hath the wise more than the fool? what hath the poor, that knoweth to walk before the living?
9 Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire: this is also vanity and vexation of spirit.
10 That which hath been is named already, and it is known that it is man: neither may he contend with him that is mightier than he.
11 Seeing there be many things that increase vanity, what is man the better?
12 For who knoweth what is good for man in this life, all the days of his vain life which he spendeth as a shadow? for who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?

It is interesting that abortion or untimely birth is better according to Solomon then someone that is worthless on this earth. If someone calls a person trash, have they seen something within the person not worthy of honor if change can come. Solomon had wives that killed their infants on the altar of Astrothe. He even witnessed these sacrifices. The infants life snuffed out before they could grow into adult and perhaps be people of character. Yet at the same time what would have happened if all of Solomon children had lived? Would there be a mega fight for the throne or would they be content to live in society and work. If we look at the kingdoms around the world that still honor a king and queen, who truly decides who is next in line for the throne beyond the birth order. What becomes of the children that choose a different life then royal protection, of the throne. They have not the protection of the king and queen if they get into trouble, I think not, yet Solomon seen what children and people as trash that did not work or did not live in their full compacity of life, instead wasted it away.

What does God say about every life that each life has a purpose some to dishonor and some to honor. What type of vessel are you. Are you a garabage can, or fine jewelry box. Are you a vase that holds flowers or a leaky bucket that can not carry water. Do we become vessels of dishonor if we allow the things of this world to destroy us. One lie, a chain of gossip, a work of destruction can destroy a person in minutes til they become people of dishonor instead of honor. Sin destroys every human on earth, but life eternal comes to those that trust and put their faith in Christ. Under the old covenant Solomon was going to be buried in his sin if he continue to repent not. Our value is rated by our own response to faith, life, and hope. Meaning we can be people of honor and valued or people of dishonor. Yet parents sometimes make the choice for their children, not seeing their hidden value before birth, after birth and even later into life.

2 Timothy says nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord know them that are his. And Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. As believers we have a responsibility with the seal of God on us, that we depart or leave behind sin, Solomon struggles in his sin, perhaps better not to have been king and being a life full of sin, perhaps even a vessel of dishonor though he be king. Yet God continued to deal with the heart of Solomon. As Solomon seen the waste of human flesh(babies) on the false idol of Asthrothe. His sins was paid for by the Old Covenant law of sacrifice of a lamb, goat or a bull. Yet his sin continued for a time.

As a believer we stand in the presents of God daily, with our hearts being check for honor or dishonor, and yet instead of always renewing that daily comment of taking up our cross and following Jesus, we live in dishonorment. Yet on the mantle or hearth of the living room of God are vessels of honor and dishonor looking right at the firey pit ready to be toss into because we still remain in a place of dishonor, not being able to be people of honor. I think not. When Christ saves us, he comes in, he cleanses us from all unrighteousness and seals us with his Spirit, and he begins to make us a new creation, because all the old is passed away in our life upon salvation. We become child of honor and not dishonor. Children of faith and obedience to the Spirit of God as we learn to take up our cross of faith daily. When we fail the altar is open to repent, to renew, to be sanctified through prayer, thanksgiving and faith in Christ Jesus.

People may call you trash, garabage, worthless, and without hope, but you maybe carrying the greatest hope in your heart. To those that are disabled never give up God sees your struggle in your life, and to those handicap with sin, God wants to remove, restore and cleanse you from all unrighteousness, becaue Christ covers your sin to make you holy and presentable to God upon belief in him. Don't let people despise your inability, but put on the shield and armor of faith. Stand assured knowing your Heavenly Father cares for you.

Stand assure when the world hates you because you seem to have no value in their eyes. That God is the potter you are the clay and Christ/word is changing who you spiritually, mentally, and even physically for his call on your life. Some of us are called to sit, and others to stand. Others to open mouth insert their foot and want to see if a person's salvation can be cleansed by the same spit that washed a person' face as a child that receive Christ as Savior. However, Christ is still the best soap and cleanser around. Our momma spit can't hold to the cleansing power of Christ can do for us what his blood cleanse power can do deep within our soul. Mother's spit only cleans surface filth, Christ cleans the root of the problem.

Dear Heavenly Father, shape us into vessels of honor for your kingdom, to be tools of your greatness because you are faithful to your children to sanctify and purify their hearts as you mold them into what you want to be. In Jesus precious name Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: 2 Timothy 2:19-26 KJV
19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
