Are You Weary?
10/26/2016

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Isaiah 28:9-13 KJV
(9) Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
(10) For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
(11) For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
(12) To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
(13) But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

Are you weary? As the Prophet Isaiah preached and taught no doubt he himself became weary at times, but he seen something more in the people he spoke to and taught on a regular bases. Those of faith were preparing for the nations exile, and those with a lack of faith were listening with closed ears. There people that hear but never listen. Time of exile is fast approaching Israel who better repent. God had delivered on more then one occasion his people when the deck of cards were stack against them when they repented and sought the Lord. Were willing to hear God judgments that brought repentance. Yet the time of Isaiah very few heard the call. I will not say no one, because when wickedness is great so is the revolution of faith. A revolution of faith consisting of repentance by hearing the precepts of God’s law.

Today people read the Gospel and say Jesus paid the price and go on sinning. People live in sin thinking God rules of faith does not apply to them. That sin is okay. Then there are those who grow weary in well doing, that say what does it matter if I sin and they begin to fall away from the truth. They see no need to continue on in faith. There is a solution for weariness it is called revival. It call getting on one’s knees and praying and seeking God through both repentance of unrepented sin, though Christ paid for all sin and seeking God’s direction for one’s life.

After eleven years of writing I do grow weary like everyone else at times. After the first ten years I ask why now, but then I realized it had to do with my prayer life more then anything. It not about saying Lord use this site, it more like Lord what direction am I going in? Finally coming to the conclusion I never asked God I just sat at the computer and typed what I felt God laid on my heart.

When you have faith in God it not always easy, but if one will stick to what God says it will work out, God will deliver even if taken into exile. God does not necessarily remove what coming, but He promises to take you through it. Has I get older I realize how hard it is to change and I am still young. Yet even I get set in my ways. I think can I make changes even now. The answer is not if I can make changes but can I allow God to make changes in my life so that I can change, so I can move on down the road in the direction He needs me to go. Then I realize I need the adventure God has in store for me, because it is always satisfying, my path is like that chosen dinner from fast food that just does not taste as good as last time. It needs something or something missing or not cooked right. Yet do it God’s way it always taste good, no matter if it repeated. Soul food is always satisfying, always that hot cup of coffee or just the right temp that if you need to gulp you can or sip for a while.

Our job and our mission as believers is to continue despite our fatigue but to rest in his grace and truth even when we encounter dips and ruts in life road. To find a place of steady abiding in faith. Trusting solely on God’s promises. To pray humbly seeking God’s and building on his laws and judgments of love and truth. Love brings more tears then anger, though anger can bring tears. Ask a woman why she cries, it because of love. A woman heart is easily hurt, broken, and repaired. It has to be, in order to raise children.

Dear Heavenly Father break us down to a point we must rest and hear your word. Listening to your law of both love and judgment if we hear not your voice. Give us the ability to journey on as we rest in your precepts, knowing we are forgiven upon receiving your Son as Savior and Lord. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study for Devotion:Galatians 6:7-10 KJV
(7) Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
(8) For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
(9) And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
(10) As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
