Time Of Christ: Why Worry When You Can Pray
10/15/2016

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

John 17:17-22 KJV
(17) Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
(18) As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
(19) And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
(20) Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
(21) That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
(22) And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

Through out Christ ministry He took time to talk To His Father, to be example to us of how we ought to pray, but also so we would know how to seek the truth in all situations. Truth is a defining element of facts, but it does not mean it what the world judges by. At the trial of Jesus two false witnesses came to help see Jesus would be put to death. The truth of who Jesus was, is not understood at the trial of the Jewish court. If it had been He would never been crucified. He would of lead the militants against Rome. Jesus had to purify himself, in order for the world to be purify by His word. We have to get rid of the lies in order to speak truth. We have to allow Christ to purge our hypocrisy in order to be truthful. To purge can only come through repentance, prayer, and walking in truth and not the lies of Satan. It does not always mean the world receives any truth or the truth is handled fairly by the world.

The idea that things are always fair is not true, not even when we pray and receive truth and understanding of a situation. Jesus was going to His cross. Yet He even asked for God to remove his cup. For those that do not know scripture well the passage of scripture above was taken from Christ prayer in the garden before He was betrayed. Jesus would have to die to rise again. Jesus would have to rise to prove who He was as the Son of God and Lord of Lords. He could not remain in the grave if He was who He claimed to be as equal to Father God and the Holy Spirit. He could not remain in the grave. He had to continue on despite that decay of this world. God’s word of truth continues on despite what the world does. God preserves us through His sanctification of truth.

Dear Heavenly Father may you word stand despite what the world does. May your truth reign for eternity. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study for Devotion:

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 KJV
(23) And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
(24) Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
