Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Mark 4:23-32 KJV
(23) If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
(24) And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.
(25) For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.
(26) And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;
(27) And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.
(28) For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.
(29) But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.
(30) And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?
(31) It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:
(32) But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.

The shadowing of God is from the tree planted by water, growing in fertile soil. It grows and the little animals nest and rest under the tree. The fruit of it falling to the ground to be gathered by squirrels and birds, while others decay and spring anew. If we are the branches that bear fruit of God and God is the vine or the tree that grows, there are those that rest in the shadow of God, but are never part of the tree. The animals around the tree benefit from all the goodness it produces, but they never become a part of the tree. As children of God we bear fruit of His love and grace to mankind, but we are not the one’s to make a squirrel into a branch. If the squirrel would be grafted into the tree it would become a new creation, no longer a squirrel gathering the fruit from the ground, but soaking up the water and sunlight to produce fruit for the trunk and roots of the tree.

The shadowing of God for the world is under the protection of His followers who pray diligently that the squirrel and the bird is grafted in. The bird might sit on a branch but it still not part of the tree. Many people go through life thinking they are part of God’s kingdom but never received God’s salvation plan, only the fruit of the word and gathering benefits of being part of God’s creation, along with receiving from other trees the bad fruit that cause the storms in life. God’s salvation for mankind comes with being grafted into the tree and no longer just a receiver but giver and producer of the fruit of God. There other trees growing that produce imitation fruit that brings death to the soul and harm to the nation. It is a tree planted in the desert heat, of evil. The tree of death growing with little water, looking like prune with dried out raisins from its branches. The gathering of dry fruit only causes thirst that can not be quenched in the desert heat. Yet fruit from the tree of God no matter it location still produces good fruit with plenty thirst quenching substance inside.

The world needs the fruit of God to survive in this world, but in the next world we need God’s salvation to get there. Are you in God’s rocket ship, or one made by the scientific world. The rockets of science will not save one’s soul. God’s ship is solidly built. It not seeable by the naked eye but the clouds of this world surround it. When Christ returns the people of God comes in God’s rocket ship. With invisible force fields that protect his people from the wrath of God to come. Perhaps this helps those foreign to the word of God to grasp God’s protection a little differently. Many of us have seen a few space movies. Knowing that a little play on words might help bring understanding of fiction into reality of what God is doing and will do for man in the future. It not to take away from the word of God, but to illuminate for those not so familiar with God’s eternal plan of salvation. See God will raise the dead up both believers and non believers. Some will face their doom and others life eternal with Christ and God the Father. Those that are dead will come back with Christ to gathering of the remaining of Christ’s people. Whosoever belief in Jesus will be saved. Turn from your sins and follow in the ways of Christ. Asking God to forgive you of your sins.

Dear Heavenly Father, forgive all our sins, and enable us to believe and trust in your Son. We ask Christ into our hearts so that we can be grafted into your tree of eternal life and ride in your rocket ship of salvation. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study for Devotion:

Ezekiel 31:14-17 KJV
(14) To the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves for their height, neither shoot up their top among the thick boughs, neither their trees stand up in their height, all that drink water: for they are all delivered unto death, to the nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.
(15) Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when he went down to the grave I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained the floods thereof, and the great waters were stayed: and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him.
(16) I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to hell with them that descend into the pit: and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, shall be comforted in the nether parts of the earth.
(17) They also went down into hell with him unto them that be slain with the sword; and they that were his arm, that dwelt under his shadow in the midst of the heathen.
