1 John 5:13-15 KJV
(13) These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
(14) And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
(15) And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Have you ever asked God for million dollars or just sell one of them cows so you could have beef to eat? I heard one person say they would preach for a Dr. Pepper, and I heard some even say they will preach for free. Everyone has a price. Yet some will pay to preach. Those that pay to preach what have they gained but obedience or did because they loved the Lord? Or was there something else that drove them to it.

What have I gained by paying to preach, but to hear those words echo back and realization they are not my words but the word of the Lord. What have I gained by preaching not money or gold, for I have none. Yet I ask God for a million and I reminded of the labor of one’s own hands. The gift of God of manna and quail in the wilderness. God gives man ability to earn money and gives manna and quail meager meal of repetition to those that seek miracle of food.

How much was squander on the road to the Promise Land that had been taken with them when they left Egypt? How much was used in celebration to the golden calf. How much survived without water, food/grass that came out in huge herds in the desert. At the point of needing bread and meat, it clear their livestock was perhaps gone. Yet the promise land was a land of milk and honey.

Abraham in old age along with His wife Sarah had a baby name Isaac. Not the offspring of the Sarah’s maid. The rightful heir of promise of the Lord. Yet Sarah tried to full fill Abraham need of a child before the Lord’s timing. Jesus tells his disciples not to worry about what they shall eat or drink for the journey of preaching. One might wonder how long will you have to eat manna and quail while serving God.

God’s provision is not always our desire, nor is the food of wealth necessarily good. Yet what we know the fruit and labor of our own hands will help in God’s provision, no for God provision is enough to satisfy. If God’s provision is enough to satisfy then what does it cost. Noah obeyed God and lost the world as he had known around him, and given a production of grapes which he got drunk by. Jonah obeyed God and found himself for a time under a little shade then out in direct heat of the sun because of his complaining. Elijah found himself with food to eat by the hand of a widow during a famine in the land. Yet the woman found grace in God’s sight by the provision of taking care of a prophet.

What is one’s wealth is another man’s income after you are gone. Yet the wealth of God is for those that can grab hold of it, or only for those who ask God for provision of by that wealth because they are doing the will of God. Yet there are stories of missionaries that have starved and some giving up their portion to feed the hungry. Paul made tents, and Peter knew how to fish. Yet all these things were done by their hand to keep food on the table during their journeys. Yet Moses had manna from Heaven.

Do we ask of God to receive that million, or is that million for our own greed and lust. If you going into ministry for money, you are in the wrong line of work, few become pastor’s of mega churches but most minister at least have manna. God gave you ability to work then work, if you can not then consider this what you give to God is God’s already. He is faithful to help the poor and those in need as well as those that can work like Noah who built an ark for hundred years. Noah had a boat with all the livestock to replenish the earth aboard. What else did Noah need. He needed that ability to forget the flood. Elijah found friendship in the woman that feed him, but he only there in the village for a time, but the woman had help feeding her neighbors.

What the point if you going to ask God to do according to His will, make sure you ask for God to grant the desires of your heart. God knows what you need, not only what you need but those desires of your heart and can meet them all. There many things I desire and many things I want, but in truth I rather have what God wants for me. Because His gifts are greater then what I can give God. Moses gained faith in the wilderness that did not come from his own ability, because Moses realized at the end of his life that what Israel needed was a leader that feared God and could lead the people into worship before God. Noah found shame and cursed his son Canaan to be a servant to his brethren, yet we all are servants to someone in life. Abraham found the promise and yet found he did not need to squander what God gave him, for he did put away his other wives eventually. Solomon found wealth but perhaps loss any faith he did have only gaining what in this world, because he could adhere to godly wisdom God had given him.

Then the thief on the cross had stolen in life, but gained paradise with faith and for defending and recognizing Jesus as being unworthy to pay the same price has he was for sin. What we deserve and what Jesus gives us is worth far more then the price we pay in this world. We deserve nothing for ungratefulness, our unforgiveness, lack of hope and our own desires to meet our own needs without the acknowledging God in our life.

God’s will for us is to grant the desires of our heart. It does nto mean we will have it how we wanted it like most fast food services will provide for the customers. If God grants your desires beware there may be lesson in those desires granted as you requested it. If you are willing to wait for how God will grant those desires to full fill the deepest part of your heart, then guess what you will get more then you need if you seek and ask according to God’s will, for his grace his sufficient. Paul found grace despite being beaten and stoned.

The hand we are dealt with in life does not mean God is not going to bless. It only means God’s grace is sufficient. God ability to know our hearts and to grant our desires is not understood by human desires. God knows what we can handle and most of us might want a million dollars but there is a price tag with that million to one’s own soul even if the only reason one would want it is to give it all away. Stardom and fame comes with wealth usually.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for granting the desires of our heart according to your perfect plan for each every child you have. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
