Deuteronomy 7:6-9 KJV
(6) For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
(7) The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:
(8) But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
(9) Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

God has chosen all people to be His people, yet we see his love for mankind through the Israelites. Some might say the Gentile nation is jealous of God’s relationship with Israel, by no means is this necessarily true for man to need Jesus. Yet what we see is God’s authority in his love for a group of people. A group of people who ancestor Abraham had faith and belief in God and before Abraham was Noah. God’s authority seen in his wrath and in his promises to a generation of people without a home and hope. God spoke and said I be your God Abraham if you will obey my voice, and Abraham obeyed leaving a country he knew and going to land of Promise, one not seen, but one hoped for. Abraham never said Lord not today I am busy, but okay let’s go. Never seem to question this piece of land, yet questioned this issue of offspring through Sarah his wife who was old and unable to conceive.

God chose us to be our leader. He chose us and displayed His glory through signs and wonders. Yet some believed without the wonders or the signs. God showing his authority to man to do whatever he pleased, and yet he choose to bless a people because they obey Him and believed. Making his word worth more then gold, but something you can count on if you meet the conditions of God and not God meeting your conditions.

Who are we to tell God what we need or what we want? Who are we to receive more then our daily bread. Yet what we find is God’s loves Israel, despite their grumbling, unbelief, and doubts of God ability to provide and take care of them. A long journey in the wilderness taught Israel how to obey God and to trust in him for even their daily substance. Trusting in God’s provision because they were unable to provide it for themselves, it would take an act of God for them to survive in the wilderness.

God’s love reaching down when we can not do it for ourselves. Abraham going for a land of promise not because he could not go and search out a place himself, but because He desire to obey this God that chose to speak to him. God honor the faithfulness of Abraham and all his children that would adhere and obey Him with faith. God chose to speak to Abraham. God chose to bring Israel out of Egypt has he promised Abraham He would.

God spoke to foreign kings, but foreign kings choose to worship idols and sometimes God. He chose Abraham because the idols of his father were put away at some point in following God that spoke to him. Did others have this choice no doubt they did, but what they did not do is adhere to that choice. Now Israel is in the Promise Land with a choice to obey God or to not to and face the consequences of disobedience, with open promise of hope.

God choosing only one group people, no he chose the world and he demonstrate his love for the world by sending His Son to teach His love for the world. Jesus minister to not just the Jewish people, but to the gentiles also. Yet Israel became a people of hope through obedience and faith, because of God’s blessings flowed, because of their faith and obedience and proof of what would happen if disobeying God would come to the children of disobedience.

God’s authority is trustworthy and proven by his promises and love for man. Yet man has to be willing to receive God’s love through His Son Jesus. His word and His promises. God’s authority in the lives of children of disobedience is proven as well, but some obey God that do not have faith and so they strive with the promises of obedience, but without the promises of faith. Without faith one can not gain the promise of heaven, one only gains the promise of eternity in hell. Devil has to obey God but does not love God back.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for you love for your children of obedience and faith. The hope of heaven given to all with faith to obey and rely on you. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
