What Is In A Heart
5/27/2015

Daily Devotions:by Christina Farris

Matthew 12:33-37 KJV
(33) Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
(34) O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
(35) A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
(36) But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
(37) For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

As the world watches another TV family fall to the ground by sins of their children, I begin to think of how a tree grows and the fruit it bears is not always good or bad. Yet some trees only bare bad fruit and others only bare good fruit. The tree that bares both good and bad is a tree that seems not to be able to make up his mind of what he is. The devil will like to destroy anything good with one sin. It only takes one major worm nest to destroy a tree. Those little worms that sting and destroy a tree, yet they make good fishing worms.

Godly parents often wonder how their good kids can grow up being evil and how their kids coming from Bible backgrounds can become corrupt. In truth the Bible tells how it happens. Children are human and some receive the good things of the word with gladness and others do outwardly but never inwardly. Manís heart is just plain evil by human nature. The war our children face is knowing the difference between goo and evil. Knowing the difference between right and wrong and living with consequence of both.

Each person in this world must hold to their faith. Hold to that which is right. Control their own actions and hopefully their actions will reflect the tree that they are. Life gives you time to prune the tree, but it takes Godís pruning to get rid of the bad. Our disciplinary life style might control our actions, but it does not control our thoughts or our hearts.

Every word you have ever spoken will be judge. Every word spoken effects not only yourself but the hearers. The angels in heaven who have guard over you hear those words. If the words are not Psalms then you are judge by those words that have no value. Your actions speak louder then words, yet we are judged by our words. You are condemned by your words. If our words condemn us what hope does anyone have. The hope comes through Godís Word the Lamb of God, that came to take away the sins of the world. Take away all the idle words that cause destruction by response of those that hear it.

If you can handle all those idles words coming back at you there is hope through Christ Jesus. The hope is God has forgiven you upon faith. That all those idle words before and after are purged or gotten rid of upon faith in Christ Jesus. The hope of glory. The hope of victory that can only be won through forgiveness of sin. The devil will look at God and say he/she said all these things and Jesus is going to look at God and say I paid for that.

Can we forgive others for their words and lies. Their inhumane choices of deception through verbal word, or verbal assault. Can we forgive those that harmed us by words that are not always true. There is an old childhood saying that says, ďsticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me.Ē Truth words can hurt and sometimes worse then actions, because it effects the heart. Yet if God has forgiven the words of our ignorance and our stupidity then we ought to forgive others their words of ignorance and stupidity also.

Jesus as he taught was demonstrating to the Pharisees how the law does not justify before God, how our very words condemn us, How bridling the tongue is not only diplomacy, but can be also entrapment for the soul. There needs to be repentance at some point. Pharisees were called vipers, because they nick picked at every little thing they could find fault in. Man is said to speak out of the heart, but man is also with discipline control what comes forth out of the mouth. Yet your heart still condemns you for God sees the heart.

Is it our place to prune the life of others, if we do judgment is on our own heads. Only in the life our children and the life of laws of our land that prunes the heart of every man that choose to follow it. Yet the law of God says we are free from sin when one receive Jesus Christ as Lord, yet our liberty is not to be used as liberty to sin. Freedom in Christ does not come without following in the ways of Christ and God. We are not to ignore the instruction of the Word and Spirit. We are not to ignore the things of God. Not to ignore Godís commands. Godís law of faith trumps all laws of God. Yet we are punished by the law of man. The church world can not condone action but it can forgive and teach people to heal from sin as well as seek forgiveness from God.

Dear Heavenly Father help us to know your forgiveness that comes through faith in Christ Jesus, and yet know our faith does not give us the right to sin. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
