Time of Christ: Christ's Final Instructions
5/23/2015

Daily Devotions:by Christina Farris

Luke 24:45-53 KJV
(45) Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
(46) And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
(47) And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
(48) And ye are witnesses of these things.
(49) And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
(50) And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
(51) And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.
(52) And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:
(53) And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

Sunday is Pentecost Sunday, and rightfully so it is the day of remembering that the power of the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples to spread the Gospel of Jesus and to share the might works of God. Jesus before He ascended into heaven told his disciples to go to Jerusalem and their they would be endue with powered from on High. This is speaking about power coming straight from God, that power of His Spirit to enable the teaching of who God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is.

Jesus gave simple instructions that this would happen in Jerusalem. One has to remember for forty days after Christ death that Jesus was in his home town preaching. He did not remain in Jerusalem after the Holy men of old had risen up. He did not remain in Jerusalem where the temple vail had been ripped, but he continued teaching his disciples and those that would listen about the works of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. His finaly teaching while on earth was about the Spirit of God coming to enable them to do the work God had called them too. Power from on high. Power to enable the saints of God.

The Holy Spirit power is for today and demonstrated in the gifts of the Spirit to teach all truths about God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. That the power of God is not a game or a charade, but a gift from God. A gift from God for all that will receive the Holy Spirit to do the work of God in their life. To enable and to empower them for the work of God.

Dear Heavenly Father you know the work you have for each believer to share the truth of who you are, as well as your Son and Holy Spirit. Enable us to do your work by your Spirit and to teach all truths. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
