The Spirit Of Prophesy 5/12/2015 Daily Devotions:by Christina Farris Revelation 19:10-16 KJV
It is wonderful to hear testimony of faith in God. And Christ Jesus. Yet few realize how important believing the prophesy of God is. I am not quick to believe everything I hear, despite what I see. In truth it is far better to be cautious then a fool. Yet one way to know if something real is test with the word of God. Does it meet God’s standards of truth, and prophesy. Christ coming was prophesied about long before he came into the world in human flesh. Yet there were many more prophesies about Israel besides the coming Messiah. The exiles from their own land even as early as the time of Egypt was prophesied, even the giving of how long. Had Jacob remember the prophesy as his sons took him to Egypt to see his brother Joseph. The prophesy was clear at the time of Abraham that time exile would happen and time of freedom would come. God still gives visions, and hope through modern prophesy, it prophesies themselves should not be sought after. Prophesy tends to be a little more subtle, even in scripture. To seek prophesy is dangerous, for there many false prophets or classified as fortune tellers and not prophets. As Christian experience God’s prophesy in their own life, they only need the interpretation by God’s Spirit and God’s word. A measuring stick is the God’s Spirit and His word. Jesus was the prophetic word that came in the flesh.
Jesus prophesied to a fig tree to die, because it produced nothing. The disciples seen the tree the next day and it was dead. Had they not believe Jesus that they had to check for themselves. No the reality of the prophesy made them need to check it out. The evidence is the manifestation of the prophesy. Jesus was the evidence God was real.
Dear Heavenly Father your word of prophesy is true. Your word being sent forth so we can believe in your truth more abundantly. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
