Teaching On The Trinity

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Acts 19:1-8 KJV
1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
7 And all the men were about twelve.
8 And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.

Symbolism of the three leaf clover in Ireland was used by St. Patrick when he was on the missionary field to explain who the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (the blessed Trinity) is and was. Trinity word used to describe in context the state of three godhead being one. St Patrick also spoke on the rarity of Gospel being truly found as a shamrock or four leaf clover is rare. Despite the teaching of Matthew, Mark Luke and John's books that are the four testimonies or Gospel of Jesus was not found in regards to healthy living for God. When dealing with tribes and groups of people not familiar with the law of love, one might find more tribal or culture law barbaric in nature. Yet despite the barbaric codes or ideas, the code of love was planted by St Patrick in the since of sharing the Trinity and the testimony of Jesus.

Paul in his travel would stumble into to groups that had received the baptism of repentance but not the baptism of Jesus or the Holy Spirit. The knowledge beyond the need to repent being the foundation without the Chief Corner Stone of faith in place. The village people knowledge was there was a God and a Messiah was coming was all some people understood beyond the need of repentance. Paul would teach about Jesus and then the Holy Spirit baptising them into faith of God the Father, Son and HOly Spirit. Prehaps Paul coming from a Jewish background understood these people that knew not Christ or the Holy Spirit but they knew the need for repentance. The gospel would be explained and the testimony about Jesus given. People would receive Christ as Savior and were baptized in to the name of the Lord Jesus, and then the laying on hands was given for them to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Faith in the Trinity can not be without being taught about who God the Father, Son And HOly Spirit. Education is the key to bring people to first faith in God but also the message of the Gospel and the Holy Spirit. How all three are one, and yet we see them each individually when teaching about them or talking about them. Yet the three are one being Jesus being the word of God that became flesh, and the Spirit of God never changed in regards to being present in God the Father and Christ or individually as himself as Holy Spirit. God is Spirit from the beginning before creation, yet he manifest himself as Jehovah(LORD GOD) and Jesus(in the flesh).

To teach faith is to explain the basics of faith, without leaving any essential parts of salvation message out or the continual hope through gift of God's Spirit to the believer. Jesus final words in the book of Matthew was to go ye therefore and teach all nation baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Missionaries, pastors and teachers of all denominations have continued sharing these three main characters of faith with the world. Baptising the world both with water and with the Spirit the things of God. Baptism is both spiritual and action of faith, in regards of water baptism and laying on of hands. Spiritual baptism far greater then the physical baptism of faith but both are part of faith.

Dear Heavenly Father, help us to learn the testimony of Jesus contained in the four Gospels as well has to know who you are as the Triune Godhead. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Matthew 28:19-20 KJV
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
