The Last Week Before The Crucifixion:The King Is Coming

Matthew 21:1-6 KJV
(1) And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,
(2) Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.
(3) And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.
(4) All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
(5) Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.
(6) And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,

As Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu won election in Israel on March 18, 2015, he was stated he was against a Palestinian State. Did he speak to gain the hardliners of Israel or speak only to gain national attention on the decision facing Israel. America already recognizing a Palestinian State. The advantage of recognizing Palestine as a State does not mean they won the war. It means they are seen as a people with land rights of their own. A place and a territory of their own. One can only hope it would mean peace in land once more. Yet scripture declares this family of Abraham, both Ishmael and Isaac would be at war. Is this a time of peace only to declare more war. Only time will tell what this truly means.

Jesus came as a peaceful king, laid in a manger because there was no room in the inn. He came peace riding into Jerusalem on a ass’ and a colt. Colt here means a foal or ass’ offspring. Ass another word for donkey. The tradition of kings riding in a parade of peace is to ride to a donkey with his feet across the colt. When Christ return’s He will be riding a white Horse. A horse of valor and war. A horse not of peace but of victory. Yet the donkey is sign of peace and humility. Jesus came into the world in a manger, perhaps his mother as envision riding a donkey into Bethlehem because of her pregnancy no doubt. His first ride into the city kings. The children of Judah being the kingly line. A scepter not to be removed. This declaring that Mary and Joseph was from the tribe of David, from the kingly line.

The declaration of a king. His Israel ability to make peace and war depended on one family from prophesy. The answer would be yes. Here in America we understand not this need of someone coming from one particular tribe. It kind of like my heritage of ministers from both sides of my family. God’s call to the tribe of Judah to be king. A call of nobility and pride, not always a call to humbleness. Yet the good kings of Israel seem to understand humility and bad kings only seen money as their ticket. Some might ask God why is their heritage so important as far as what role they play in society. It is ordination from God, not man. Jesus was called to be Israel Spiritual King. He was also from the Levitical tribe. All of Israel was. Yet not all were from the tribe of Judah.

The prophetic word seen in scripture in the kingly line and prophesy and declaration to the daughter of Zion of their king, but the specific nature of the fact their Savior would be riding on an ass come from Zechariah. The prophesy foretold on how the Messiah would come as a peaceful king. Jesus told the disciples to go find this ass and her foal and tell the owner the Lord have need of them and that the owner would send them. The prophesy of what would be found and what to say. To have the faith to believe Jesus enough that when he says go and find and it be there. Is a test of faith. Noah built ark on faith a flood was coming. Abraham’s servant prayed about Isaac wife upon what he hoped to discover to be God’s will. A prayer no doubt of the Holy Spirit. Moses with faith faced the Pharaoh. With faith missionaries travel the globe. Each minister takes a step of faith and obeys the call of God on their life. The word of God sending us forth and compelling us by His Spirit to obey the word of God.

The events of the next week is focused around the men. Men would send Jesus to the cross. The men would declare to the women their king comes. The men would be in the city streets to proclaim and to accuse. The women would watch in the sidelines. Women today sit not on the sidelines as days of history gone by but stand in the government with our men. Do they declare a Palestinian State in hopes of peace, or only to bring about the rise of the antichrist to come. Yet the antichrist predecessors are already here. God’s word declaring truth. Whether we are a part of the big picture of nobility to the world, or the smaller picture in our home’s and communities are we in obedience to the word of God. Are we controlled by the Word. I was watching an x box commerical yesterday that declared a person a maker of their own destiny. All I could think the world is exactly that declaring what they believe to be their own destiny. Their own plan in life. No one likes to feel controlled by anyone these days. No one wants to feel like a chess piece or a checker piece on a board, being moved by the hand of each player. The world cries out let us chose our own destiny. God gave you that choice when He gave his own Son to die for the sins of the world upon belief. Yet what God has declared will be, whether you willing accept God’s function has the player of the chess board or not. Jesus was a Palm that would turn into the queen as being the first of the church of God and He would be the last. Christ would also be king and Lord of all. Are you in compliance to God’s declaration of success in your life? Are you following His instructions? Are you declaring to the church and others He is Lord.

Dear Heavenly Father give us faith to stand. Faith to believe and honor in obedience to your word.. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
