What does it mean to be treasures of faith? I often wonder what price would you put on your own designs? What price would you put on things you loose and then find. If you loose a special item you created only to later to loose that design and then find it, has the value increased or decreased. It would depend on what the product you designed was for how valuable it was to you.
We are created in the image of God. We are all valuable to God. Our worth is not based on our productivity or usefulness but because of the fact we were designed by God long before we were created in our mother’s womb. Our design of the human race began when God formed man out of clay and place him in the garden of Eden.
The woman put her last coin into the treasury, only to have Jesus observe this action and the action of those around whose hearts were not in line with giving from the depth of their pockets, but out of their wealth as if it was a penny of little worth. Man having earned is wealth had lost the value of his earnings, yet the woman giving out of all she had knew the value of that one coin she placed in the offering box. Knowing that one coin though it was not valuable to most, God would turn it into value by using it with all the other coins to feed both the poor and the rich their daily bread.
The woman sweeping the floor knowing the value of money and knowing she could not afford to loose it, went and swept the floor till she found it. Yesterday my cat climbed up on the shelf part of an antique desk. Sitting on the top near the celling he reaches over and knocks my calendar off the wall. The thumb tack hitting the floor, only to land who knows where. I get up and begin to sweep and never finding the tack. Point is that tack had little value to me, easy to replace. Yet it value will be discovered when it pierces my barefoot.
Finding the tack before it can do harm or loose it usefulness seems like a more valuable choice. Yet it was not the case yesterday. Yet in truth that tack when found can be reused. It has value still, yet it only valuable to the one searching for it. The woman with the lost coin rejoices with her friends when she finds it. Yet the friends seen no value in the woman’s coin until it was found. Instead she swept alone looking for it, hoping to find it.
God’s value on us when we are lost from Him, because of our own doing is still great. He sees us as precious valuable creations He designed for a purpose. Some people might be evil, but God still uses them, teaching them they still have value in his world, even if for the wrong reasons. Being a vessel of dishonor or honor is a choice of each human. Yet the fact is we are still a vessel usable by God. What better is the vessel God changes for His honor and not his dishonor. Even when vessels of dishonor our out of sight and out of mind, once rediscovered there usefulness can change for good or bad. An old rusted pot turned into a flower container, seemed to lost its use in the kitchen, but not in the garden.
God wants to use the coins for his glory and honor the value already decided because God created it. Yet one day some of us will go into heap for burning and others will be recycled for his kingdom in heaven. Given new bodies but not a new soul. The soul already cleansed by blood of Jesus. Already redesigned for honor and not dishonor. A coin of value once found, to share with fellowship in heaven. If you are a tack you will be found eventually and put to good use, if you are lost then you will be found and used as well. Yet being used by God has benefits. It not abuse, it is being shown your value as person with ability and not disability.
Dear Heavenly Father think you finding us that are lost from you and helping us discovers ways to be useful with abilities and not disabilities. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
