Bow To The Feet Of Christ

Luke 7:36-50 KJV
(36) And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee's house, and sat down to meat.
(37) And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,
(38) And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
(39) Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.
(40) And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.
(41) There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.
(42) And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?
(43) Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.
(44) And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.
(45) Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.
(46) My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.
(47) Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
(48) And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.
(49) And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?
(50) And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

The reality of God is often foreseen in simple words of your sins are forgiveness. God’s ability to forgive sins that otherwise would make a person an outcast, unworthy to talk to religious zealots that can not be around or near the impure. It is those that cry to separate yourselves without understanding that they once were unclean as well. Their sins once marred them. There sins forgiven as much as the next sinner in line for saving. All sin is nothing but filthy rags. Rags that even if washed by human hands are still stained, but washed by the blood of Jesus is made white as snow. Purified through the death of Jesus.

This woman in the passage came anointed and kissing the feet of Jesus. Giving him better treatment then the Pharisees who’s house he was in. Instead the Pharisee seen this display and said Jesus do you even care who this woman is that is touching your feet. Pharisees had not given Jesus proper respect by washing his feet as custom of the day or offering a little oil for his head. The Pharisee did not even kiss the check of Jesus in greeting, yet the woman did not stop kissing his feet. This woman bow to Jesus as if He were a king, gave him gift of the anointing of expensive bottle of perfume. Yet this woman is told your sins are forgiven, because she had showed him love and respect of who He is. A respect as a follower who sins were forgiven because she believed who Jesus was as the Son of God. Yet Pharisee believe in God and sins were forgiven, but he showed no respect to the Son of God. Think of the thief on the cross beside Jesus, one showing respect and other mocking Jesus. One person sin forgiven and the other not. Why because it simple really, love and honoring Jesus is part of being a child of God.

This anointing took place in the year of popularity, the next anointing covered in the other Gospels took place in the year of opposition for the purpose of preparing Christ body for burial. This anointing was a respect shown to Jesus for who he was, This was to show love, and the talk of the Pharisees declaring this woman filthiness was why Jesus said in a since don’t listen to then people, go your sins are forgiven. How this woman must of heard scorn, yet she knew the forgiveness from the voice of the Son of God. The one that forgave her in front of all those that pointed at her and said she is unclean, saying she is one of my children too.

Women you can be forgiven despite your sin. Women you can be forgiven despite what others say about you. Jesus is no respecter of person, all must come and bow at the throne one day and confess Jesus as Lord, better to do it before it is to late to receive forgiveness of sin. Repent now before it to late. Jesus loves you. Express your love by honoring Him. Just honor Jesus today. Bow to Him. Express your love by loving and caring for others. Praise and worship Him in your heart.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for forgiveness of sin, may we give honor and glory to the Lamb, the Son of God. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
