Psalms 24:1-10 KJV
(1) A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
(2) For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
(3) Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?
(4) He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
(5) He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
(6) This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.
(7) Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
(8) Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
(9) Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
(10) Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

Every Sunday a Psalms start out of so much talk of destruction when going through the book of Isaiah. It like the Time of Christ on Saturday came out of this time period, because so much talk of Old Testament for so many months. I felt like there need a balance of both praise and refocus to New Testament. Yet it is challenge around certain events like Washington birthday last week and Presidents week near the beginning of the prior week. Our President did not design the country we live in, our founding father’s of the colonies began shaping things by what they hope for the future of America. We reflect on our President those days in memory of the shaping and reshaping our leaders do while in past, present and future offices. Yet God almighty never has to reshape the earth. Though one day it will be completely destroyed, the shape it is is not. When earth began it began with water covering the whole earth. I have to wonder did Noah understand this while he built the ark. Did he understand that out of the water became land. Did he understand that the flood of his day was like washing the slate of God’s world clean. Yet in the beginning the Spirit of God hover over the water. Water that never had been before was created. Yet water at the time of Noah was not covering the earth till the flood. Earth in the creation story was made by God. God after the flood just peeled back the water from the earth surface. Opening like we would an orange, slowly peeling the water that covered away. Giving room for the animals and people. A slow peeling back to how the earth must of appeared in Noah day. Yet when destruction comes again it will not come with water but fire. Drying up of land, the scorching heat of summer will be minor to compared to the heat of destruction of God. The heat to purge the earth surface of the pollution of the world. Then the New Jerusalem will come. The Law of God is restored to His people. There is no more sorrow there but peace and safety for eternity in God’s city. A place of continue rejoicing.

Who was worthy in the day of Noah to survive the flood. Only eight survived, because Noah found grace in the eyes of God. Who found salvation at the time of Christ, those who believed. David a man of war found grace in the eyes of God through faith. He was a warrior and a man of authority. He found grace like Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He found grace like Moses, and Samuel. He found grace through faith. Christians we find faith through God’s grace. We have grace of God on our lives through faith. Yet we stand on this side of the promised Redeemer. Who was the redeemer before Christ but God (Jehovah) and His word was the precious promise of this redemption taken on faith by the ancestors of faith. Christ came to take away the sins of the world, there would be no more sacrifice for sin. Yet we lived by faith, walk by faith and saved by grace of God, not by works should any person boast. We all receive righteousness through faith. Christ coming was like the flood washing the slate of the world clean, yet the cleansing comes with a condition of faith, without faith we all perish. Without acceptance God’s redemption and His purification through His Son, we can not stand in His Holy Hill. David was looking from afar and yet at the Word of God promised to him in his day. Promised to Noah, and all those of faith in God.

Are you worthy to stand in God’s holy hill? Are you worthy to stand, the answer none is without sin, but the righteous of God comes by His Word to those that believe. Jesus is the Word of promise in the flesh. Through faith we might be saved, knowing God keeps His promises to all that believe. David is looking beyond the war of a time of peace and I time of God’s mercy. A time of grace and restoration to God’s kingdom. A kingdom with no end. Yet he did not see this kingdom while on earth, but the hope of each generation of faith is that Christ will return and rule the earth. The Jewish people that surround Jesus in his day understood not the promise of God’s rule was not for the time He walk the earth. For His time was first spiritual, and second a reality in the incorruptible flesh. Until the saints of years gone by return with Christ in incorruptible form, then the word of God is under destruction by the world. Yet God will reestablish His Word in the heart of all that believe through faith in Christ Jesus.

David reflects on God’s purging and cleansing of the earth of the time of Noah to understand the concept of God’s grace and mercy to his people of faith. To see who was worthy to walk the earth again. It is this hope David had because Noah had found the grace David was sure he had in God His Savior, through the promise of His Word spoken to His heart.

Dear Heavenly Father strengthen us in faith of your word and our Savior Jesus Christ, through your redemption plan of promise to all that believe in what you say and who you are as Lord. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
