I am sitting and wondering over one of the most loved Psalms in the Bible if the old time
prophets like Ezekiel and Daniel meditated on this Psalm as they were in the hands of the
enemy. They seem to never be without the food of the Lord. Did this Psalms speak to
their heart. Did they memorized this Psalms when they were at their lowest point? Did
they say the Lord prepared a meal in the presence of their enemy.
It not hard to understand a Shepherd who provides for their needs and gives some one the
desires of their heart, but do they ever think of the Shepherd in the time of trouble
providing right in the middle of the enemy a feast of spiritual food and strength. Daniel
was thrown into the lions den and the king came the next day to see if he was alive.
Daniel had a story to share how the Lord shut the mouths of lions. As Ezekiel walked
toward Babylon the Lord spoke to him about the dead bones he seen on the road and said
can these bones live. Ezekiel said he did not know unless the Lord allowed it to be. Then
in his vision he seen the bones come back to life with meat on them bones and ready for
battle against the enemy. Though this would not take place in time of Ezekiel his
prophesy of the Lord would be seen as no great mystery with the rising of the dead
walking in Jerusalem in Matthew 27 before Christ came up out of the tomb being the last
to rise of the Old Testament and first to rise for the new covenant.
What are you worried about a few hungry lions or what type of feast your Lord will
prepare for you to be able to sing and shout His praises. Yet even in the presence of
your enemies the Lord is able to provide a meal that will keep you in the path of
righteousness for His namesake. His comfort comes with not only his rod of
correction, but his rod that gentle yokes around the neck and pulls one out of harms
way right in the middle of danger. Do not worry about dwelling in the House of the
Lord for His Spirit dwells in the heart of all that believe, You are not going
anywhere until it is your time to go from your earthly flesh. You will dine with the
Lord if you have invited him into your heart.
David filled with God’s Holy Spirit because of his anointing as King, never had to
worry about where the Lord was in His life, just if he was living up to what God
decreed. Even with His faults the Lord was right beside him, correcting and guiding
him. Even with the rod of correction or the rod of gently leading David, knew the
power of God in his life. God gave a David a song in his heart that lasted throughout
his reign. Do not worry about remaining with the Lord, allow Him to guide you.
Repent of your sins and receive Christ as Lord today.
Dear Heavenly Father as the enemy surrounds, remind us Lord your feast is by
your Spirit. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
