Time Of Christ: Eternity Without Water 06/25/2016
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisLuke 16:19-31 KJV
(19) There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
(20) And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
(21) And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
(22) And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
(23) And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
(24) And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
(25) But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
(26) And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
(27) Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
(28) For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
(29) Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
(30) And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
(31) And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Eternity without water is an eternity without the power of God to deliver you from torment. Jesus used parables to illustrate a point. One can only imagine what a day without God around would be like in our world. No storms would be stopped or nature’s fury, the fires in California would rage to other states with no hope of stopping it. The hope of brighter day would only end with more storms and devastation, as nature fury grew angry without hearing the voice of the Lord. In hell God does not quench the fires even for a minute. Hell is place of continual torment. One thought bullying in the school was bad, or the battle in war, it a continual nightmare that has no end.
The rich man found himself in a place of torment without hope. The life he lived was one without compassion for others. Caring not for the needs of others. He would not listen to the word of God about caring for others but only cared about his own wealth and all the luxuries and things he could buy for himself. He then had compassion for his family, but it was to late for he was in place where he could do nothing but beg Abraham for a drop of water and deliverance for his family. He did not want his family in the place of torment. He desire not to have them suffer has he was. He knew he deserved what he got, but yet he still asked for a drink of water to quench his thirst. Abraham told him was impossible to give him a drink, because of the great gulf between heaven and hell. He begged that they would send someone that been raise back to life, and Abraham said even his brother’s would not believe.
The word of God is for today and not for hell. The word of God is to be heard on this side of eternity to bring about repentance and belief in God. Jesus died and rose again. Jesus is living water the quenches the fire of hell from being a part of your eternal life. If you follow God’s word and believe you will never taste the fire and smoke of hell that dry out the mouth leaving one thirsty and in torment for eternity. To believe in Jesus and to obey is to full fill the requirement of salvation if you love and have compassion for others not outwardly alone, but inwardly in your heart. To follow Christ is to turn away from sin. When the believer gets to heaven Jesus will dry all their eyes and feed and give them water of healing, thirst, and deliverance.
Dear Heavenly Father thank you the gift of your Son, who one day will wipe away all our tears if we are believer. Let us not look back and return to sin, but enable each believer to walk humbly before you, by your spirit. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
