The Call To Obey God
06/20/2016

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Luke 14:26 KJV
(26) If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

The truth of God is that He is real in every way. Faith is more then a shadowing of laws and rules to live by for protection. As our nation examines the laws that are established and adds new laws that break God’s covenant we have to ask how does it affect each believer in their walk. When our nation in general fears not the wrath of God any longer we are set up for destruction. Yet the destruction of our nation is not based on one laws but on the heart of the people. If our laws change and do not please God where is our human heart of faith.

As our nation still grieves over the mass shooting of citizens enjoying freedom, one can only ask if you do not agree with the life style did the gun man have a right to shoot? The answer is still the same no. A minister told the gun man he was forgiven, yet some might consider it too soon to say those words. Then I going to say to radicals groups you are forgiven of hate. Yet both have to come to terms of following the law. If our law is established to reflect freedom as God allows freedom then there is no law. If we allow freedom as God allows then evil will plague us. Chaos will arise and there be no since of justice. How can one hate one’s own family and love God. It is to seek God’s rules above their own family. In the Old testament were idols not knocked over by both man and God. Would Jesus had gone in a night club, after all he did provide wine for a wedding. The sad fact is that often times other things besides good times with friends and family exist in clubs. It not always about a night out and enjoying music. It behind the scenes of establishments that plague the world. The bad connections to bad people that makes even what seems to be a good place bad.

Would Jesus gone to nightclub, it is a gathering spot. However I think Karaoke God’s style would be a little interesting in the public square. Those with talent and wisdom might know exactly how to do it, after all many of musicians have had Christian songs hit the country and rock charts.

Let us think again about what we breath in society. When we say it okay to kill, or okay to be gay we are condoning God allowing people to be human but not telling them the consequences they face for eternity. God established laws, from the beginning of time that are still true today. Can God forgive? I think he can, for many friends of God lived ungodly life styles, yet they had a relationship with God. Abraham had more then one wife, David had more then one wife and we will not even discuss how many wives Solomon had, but did Solomon go to heaven, for he obey not the laws of God and turned to idols?

To shun your parents rules is not to shun God’s law of obeying your parents. God’s laws must be before your parents laws, yet if you’re a kid, God not going to ask you to break your parents rules, unless they are breaking the laws of the land. To forgive a killer, an adulteress, homosexual life style and so forth one has to ask can these people have a relationship with God. Then let us name the sinners in scripture once more. No not necessary. Eunuch by choice might be called a transvestite. Where Eunuch socially accept even in God’s house.

Keyword in John 3:16 God so loved the world. He does not love sin or evil or things against his law. Yet God takes time to speak to everyone about their sin that loves Him and believes in Him. If we shun the government rules do we shun God. After all scriptures says to obey powers and principalities. God grace is sufficient. God’s loves us, but he desires us to hate what is evil and the things of this world that go against his laws knowing we even break them at times.

God requires us to choice his ways or the devil. He requires to hate evil. Yet not always is our laws of our land reflective of our faith, so does it give a right for a person to be destructive with hate. The answer still the same no one has the right to play God but God. God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. No hint Abraham ever visit Lot beyond trying to rescue him once or twice only to see Lot go back to the same people. God showed us all something when He remove Lot from the sin of a community and then rained down brimstone upon the community.

God’s people are in places of Sodom and Gomorrah but God wants to use them to testify of his laws, leaving the punishment not up to man but destroying Sodom and Gomorrah or the fall of the Rome Empire. Obeying our parents into adult only if it is not a call of God on one’s life. Leave the correction of Sin to God and the laws of our land and not the judgment of death by our hand unless it by our laws. Let us not misunderstand a minister’s forgiveness that he is Radical against man’s law, but a radical in the knowledge of the ability to forgive a sinner.

Dear Heavenly Father establish your law above all other laws in our country so that our faith will stand even when the laws of our land become corrupt. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
