Christ's Authority
06/06/2016

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

John 3:35-36 KJV
(35) The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
(36) He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Everything is given to Jesus, Jesus being the Son of God has authority over all. He gave eternal life to all that would believe. Yet the devil believes and trembles and his eternity is in the fiery flames. With that thought it should be consider to fear God and his power to condemn us to a place of torment should cause us to strive to be better, because of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Not perfect men or women but men and women of faith. Yet Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were only mortal man. Jesus became our example to live in purity and love. Not a life style of immoral behavior as Abraham and Jacob lived.

Talking and reflecting on different human being in scripture only implies one can see the humanity of humans that had faith in God would not be cast out of the pearly gates until Christ returns and the New Jerusalem’s descends from the sky for the human’s of eternity will live with God. Christ in his humanity lived the perfect life. Jesus life was pleasing to God. Some people walk in more perfection then others. If we live by Old Testament people as example how to live we will fail. If we live the perfection of Christ non humanly obtainable but as example how we ought to live, we will find our life being less corrupted by man and more in tuned with God’s way for mankind to live.

Christ’s authority to demonstrated how to live as a human. Christ authority given salvation through faith alone, and not by works should anyone boast of their works that can not save. Christ authority and example to us is a testimony of faith that God would sit Jesus back on the throne. A testimony of hope beyond the grave because of his obedience to follow God’s will for his life. Yet is choice not to obey God would of cost him everything and God’s people. To lay our life down and to pick it up again according to the will of God the Father. Christ gain was the throne in heaven. The devil cost by deception was eternal flames of torment.

Dear Heavenly Father help us to be more like Jesus knowing He achieved the authority to sit on the throne. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
