1 Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!
2 Pass ye unto Calneh, and see; and from thence go ye to Hamath the great: then go down to Gath of the Philistines: be they better than these kingdoms? or their border greater than your border? I am not surprised at recents events as our government cried just stay in your house, stay in your dwelling place, for the destruction of a virus then becomes more easily spread. Yet no one listened to these cries quick enough, nor even thought how this was going to effect others. It is I need to get this or that before the doors of stores and business are closed for who knows how long. Mine set is how to survive in any situation. Some wanted to flee from their city or town to hopefully a safer dwelling place, but it was not necessarily so.
Our trust is what we hear and hear in the city streets. The other day my husband had gone in a store and it was low on change, and that not unusual on a busy day in any store. For two days now the bread store in our area had no bread, that like saying the toilet paper isle is empty in Walmart. Yet bread being a necessity our area was not out of bread. Bigger store had bread. I went and got some else where, so i know. However if all i seen was the bread store, and not other stores we would of had a shortage on bread as we did on toilet paper. When bread store has a sale you can guarantee first come first serve. Yet production is slow in some areas for some things not unusual for things have had to change to keep things producing. Then I ask myself no wonder there is epidemic on our hands look at close people were working to each other to do some work. There plenty of empty buildings around our nation to open a second production spot for many businesses, it makes no sense. Nor is it fire safe or emergency safe to be cramp in tight spaces. What have we been demanded as society on our workers in our nation for so long. No one thinks about it.
Israel was coming to a change to destruction to exile and to a fall of society. People instead of looking to God began to look at areas around them that might help them settle in their region to avoid the destruction of their homeland. People were beginning to flee their homes. Looking for a solution to their trouble. America, we all have been put in delicate situation no area exempt from this virus. Yet all of us look around and there is no security in our land. No one is exempt from destruction, chaos or immobility to change a thing. Yet we all are surviving despite the situation in our wake.
The point being the only secuirty in life can come from God through faith in Christ Jesus. Trusting in faith that God will provide. God is able to provide salvation to the world through his Son, why can we not trust him for provisions that we need? It is because of chaos of our world we live in. The chaos of the news reports of the latest death toll or number count and it location. Yet without knowing we keep isolated in a fear of not knowing. Then we find ourselves in a the fear of life and how to live it with knowledge death is coming. No none of this is so. For our fear is not driven by not knowing when our time be up. If that was so no one would leave their home ever. Instead we have to stand and know what lays ahead whether destruction, whether plague, whether war, and weather uncertain of simple accident is coming, we can not plan beyond our normal hopes and dreams. We can not plan beyond what is best for our families. A fire man runs into a burning house when everyone is trying to get out. Destruction all around but the fire man knows his duty to protect.
America during World War II went into a town only to have some people rejoice because they felt saved, yet limit on what our soldiers could do to help repair individual life. The only thing they could do was secure the area and hope that help protect innocent lives. Israelites were running out of a city of destruction in time of Babylonian destruction, Babylonian soldiers in Israel were not of peace but of destruction. Not like wars of our time, when our soldiers have gone in to aid the world.
Babylon would enslave Israel and region around them. No place safe, only hope was that you landed in a good place of people of compassion. Moving elsewhere was not a solution because one was still headed for destruction there was no escape. This morning you go out the door and on with life your either headed for the destruction of hell or toward the pearly gates of heaven. What I mean we all on a journey that leads to heaven or hell. One to freedom through Christ Jesus or one into captivity and torment. Where are you headed this morning. The choice is yours. You can get off the road to hell anytime during your life time, but it easier today then tomorrow.
We all are in need of Christ, we all are in need of salvation for eternity, make your decision today and trust God for peace throught he rest of your life. A hard road, but not a road without blessings. Life is hard in general at times, no one is exempt. But we all will face the gate of hell if we do not have faith in Christ.
Dear Heavenly Father, give us hope today through faith in you gave the world your Son that if anyone would believe would be saved. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study:2 Thessalonians 1:6-12 KJV
6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;
7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed ) in that day.
11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:
12 That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
