25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. The world a few months woke up to a pandemic on their heels, and now months later it is a reality that does not seem to have an end to any of us. Where does that bring us but to Christ words, not to be consumed by what we eat, or where our daily bread comes from. Does God not know we need bread, and clothes to wear? For this pass month many places have reopened and some to shut their doors and others to remain open with the concern of how long. We live in a time frame that is scary to us all. Yet we can not take heed to where our food will be coming from or our clothing. We all live one day at a time. Yet for years our reality has been on the fruit and labor of either our own hands or the hands of maybe a spouse, or insurance given by the government and the workers of our government called Social security and not SSI. SSI is welfare, Social security is what you earned an insurance if you become disabled and worked enough years or are retired and SSI is what you may of earned but not enough for survival but it still insurance net for workers, disabled workers and their love ones. Most Older and disabled people that rely on this income struggle not knowing if their pay check will last or if it is enough to survive on month to month, usually it is not. Many people have learned the lesson of unemployment by now and the six months it pays to enable people to hunt for work. Is it enough, only time will til as the clock is ticking for many americans and even people around the globe that rely on their country during working shortage issues. All of us are wondering what will happen and no one truly knows.
We read Jesus says to put God first to seek his kingdom first in our life. In others words make sure your right with God first, and seek him daily even when the knowledge of uncertainity lays in our path. I wonder what will life be in a few more months, no one knows, but we know that food is on the table for many that have worried if there be food. We know the economy is stable enough currently to hold to the pressure of a pandemic. What we do know is that things produced elsewhere outside the USA becomes in fast demand as shortage of these items disappear off the shelves. Yet some of these things do not mean survival for most of us. Some of these items have started waves of new business to compete with the competition of foreign trade. The need for face mask seemed to still be short in some areas and overstocked in others. Why because people had more time to place orders and search for items, tag team with those that don't have time and help with supplies, not shorting yourself. Just help fellow americans at the same price you paid plus shipping would be suffice, get in touch with these areas needing help, they are not asking you to go into them, just for supplies to reach them.
Now If Jesus human life had been at time of pandemic, healing would of occured and no pandemic, but Jesus still heals, but He does not always stop the storm or the issues caused by man, because of lack of faith, sin, and even because people don't seek first the kingdom of God. Yet how many have prayed for this pandemic to cease. I know I have not prayed enough what about you. We concentrate on other things to help us not to think of what going on around us, block the current state of mind, to remove ourselves from the issue to look to brighter days and time with family and even friends, never giving a thought much less a prayer. We need to prayer for those suffering from the pandemic and medical teams and families that lost loved ones. Seeking and thanking God for his mercy and grace. For others it is a time of sorrow, and looking at faith for strength in times of heart ache.
When looking at the whole situation we realize God's word is relying on him for strength, hope and insurance of faith, knowing we can not control where our food supply comes from or even our clothing supply. We might be able to work and provide for ourselves, but it is only for a time and even time half and then that time may be gone without hope of finding more work or finding work, but stuggling to locate it. It not our humans hands that provides, it is God's power that enables the world to thrive, even when the devil tries to destroy us. Where is our faith today, where is hope, let us seek God and Christ first and obey His Spirit. Not worrying about the bread we eat, or the clothes and shelter, God will provide however I don't know how or how hungry one might be before bread comes. Even the children of Israel in the wilderness felt hungry, but their reliance was not on God but on miracles they seen at the hand of Moses, and they would grumble against Moses and God. Seek God in your situation today. I know it hard to trust in someone you can not see, but can know He exist. I know because I have been their. Lay your worries at the cross today. God does not desire to see his children begging bread and neither does our nation. He allows the wicked to beg, and the wicked to have need of Him. Believers hold to your faith, it the hardest thing you do, despite situations that may come. God knows your need, it may not be meet in the life style you are accustom to but it will be met. God knows your need.
Dear Heavenly Father, help us to seek your kingdom first and to lay our burdens at the cross, help heal our land from Cov-19 and the world around us. Help us to see surges of healing in our land as evidence your power is still in control. Heal our land, Heal our world and mend the broken hearted today. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study:Psalm 37:1-40 KJV
1 A Psalm of David. Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.
11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
12 The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.
13 The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.
14 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.
15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
16 A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.
18 The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.
19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.
21 The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.
22 For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.
25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
26 He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.
27 Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
28 For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.
30 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.
31 The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
32 The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
33 The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.
34 Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
35 I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.
36 Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.
37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.
38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.
39 But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.
40 And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.
