Sealed Because You Believe In Jesus
7/17/2015

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Ephesians 1:1-14 KJV
(1) Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
(2) Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
(3) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
(4) According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
(5) Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
(6) To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
(7) In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
(8) Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
(9) Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
(10) That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
(11) In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
(12) That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
(13) In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
(14) Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

As a subscriber to social media I find myself categorizing people. On face book it how do I know someone and on google+ it is more of a mix match reason based on what people post. When I was child I use to organize my MMs before I ate them. I would pour them on a plate and see how many of each color I had. No reason, they all tasted the same. Yet there were less little light MMs to usually the dark brown MMs. There were fewer green MMs then yellow MMs. Was there a reason why perhaps because the company really wanted to make blue MMs and red ones and did so later on. The point is we all segregate things and list to suit us. At about six I learn to segregate MMs yet it matter not to me because they were all the same, Does God segregate people, yes He does. He separates people based on followers and not a follower of Him. He always has and always will. It something we can count on like if I eat MMs at the table with a plate I will segregate them.

As people we segregate people from villains to good guys. The good guys are not necessarily heroine, but they are not demons or devils. If they do something wrong they do there best to try and correct it if they can. The bad guys or devils never care if something gets corrected, or not or who gets hurt. Good guys are always trying to convert the bad guys and the bad guys try and convert the good guys to their way of thinking, but in truth unless one sees the truth of evil, seldom does one want change.

Yet God gives His people He calls that hears His voice the ability to know what evil is and to shun it. He gives us His Spirit not to control us but to enable us and empower us to live the life has His dear children. He calls us to speak by His Spirit, to sing by His Spirit, to walk by His Spirit. He calls us to obey His Spirit, much like a horse with a bridle. He teams us from the world, and gentle strokes our nose and takes the bridle in his hand and leads us to green pastures and quiet waters. When God takes off the bridle to allow us to roam the pasture and roll in the grass, we find ourselves free at last in a place we are safe to roam. God wants us to embrace good things about the world we are in and the things of heaven. Nothing wrong with enjoying MMs on a plate, but when we begin to think one group is better then another we need to think again. God segregates us to give us what we desire a world without him or a world with Him.

How can you ignore the goodness of God, it simple if caught in religious corruption or religion that has become defiled by religious control. When I think of a relationship with God I do see a place in heaven around the throne that seems a very control situation. Yet in the Jerusalem I see people coming in out of the main city gate and serving Him where ever they went. God is not a task master. He is not one to force us to do anything, but He did create us to serve Him, not as slaves, but willing people because of His goodness and mercy to all people.

There time of labor and time for fun we not always bridle by God. If we were there be no free expression of love toward God. It more like we are walking down a road and see a person in need of God and we stop long enough to share the word with them. It like Philip and the Eunuch. It is like Peter and John at the city gate called Beautiful. Speaking and doing only as the Spirit calls. Do not let the mark of the Spirit scare you, it not about control it about aiding you through life journey, so you can obey God and keep yourself safe.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for the sealing of your Holy Spirit to enable each believer to walk as your child , that seal saying we are yours segregated from the evil of eternity. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
