Are You Going Against God?

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Judges 4:1-9 KJV
(1) And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the LORD, when Ehud was dead.
(2) And the LORD sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose host was Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles.
(3) And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.
(4) And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.
(5) And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.
(6) And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedeshnaphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the LORD God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?
(7) And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin's army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand.
(8) And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.
(9) And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the LORD shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.

God’s people no matter before or after Christ understand there is consequences for sin. Sin of a nation will cost them something. Yet what is the price of sin is some type of punishment for wrong doing. Israel went into exile from the promise land for a time, until a judge of their people rose up named Deborah. And she prophesized to Barrack that the battle would go to a woman, because simply he would not go without Deborah. Without faith you can not see the world change for good. Barrack did not think he could win a battle without the prophetess, without God’s anointed, never realizing God had called and chosen him to rise up and fight a battle. A battle ordained for him to win. The battle would be won by a woman because of Barrack lack of faith.

God’s counsel should be enough for you to step out into battle and fight. Yet it never is. And perhaps God choose men of little faith not to help their faith, but so that these men with purity of heart would know that God had won these battles by sending them forward to fight. As Independence day Celebration one might ask who was in charge on the day war broke out. If God’s people looses is it for punishment, or for the devil to rise for a time because of sin of God’s people.

A nation without Christ has no covering for sin, yet individuals might have covering for sin. Our nation with freedom of faith is costing itself if they choose not to seek forgiveness for sin. And receive Christ as Lord. The removal of God’s word from our nations buildings is going to cost our nation even more then we first realize. Not only is the reminder of God’s laws removed but will also be removed from the laws of our land. Our nation will become more atheistic instead of God fearing. Yet the rules of freedom will ring loud giving believers the chance to say I be accounted in God’s army as individual.

Freedom with God is choosing his way over the world’s. One can not walk a tightrope without choosing God’s way, choosing the devil way leads for a great fall that continues to the bottomless pit forever. Choosing the tightrope walk with God allows one to cross safely to the other side. The dance Christian leaders do to defeat the enemy is not giving in to devil way of thinking but choosing God’s way.

It is time our Christians leaders allow their voices to be heard in our land instead of the devil. The believers need to hear the Christian leaders saying we going to fight for God and we are going to fight to knock out the evil of this world. This battle must be fought by the leading of the Holy Spirit in individual lives, obeying God’s direction and not the voice the world that is orally heard by all. Are you willing to be in God’s army a tool or hand extended for God to use, or do you need your prophetess or prophet to lead the battle call. The battle that God is calling each believer too, is to stand when he calls, and to be quiet and listen to his Spirit. To listen to his direction. God will give the battle to the next generation if we do not lace our shoes and listen to God’s Spirit. Don’t be a Barrack but be a Deborah. A woman not afraid to step up to the plate and obey God.

Dear Heavenly Father teach us to obey your Spirit, teach us to know that if our nation chooses not to serve you that does not mean individually we do not serve you. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
