A Revolution With Faith To Win
01/27/2016

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Matthew 8:23-27 KJV
(23) And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.
(24) And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.
(25) And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.
(26) And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
(27) But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

As long as Father delays Christ coming we are all going to die. It is a fact until Christ comes all will die. The fear of death and the fear of dying only is because of a lack of faith. The story of an old woman ready to meet her Savior on her death bed delighted to see her minister one last time. The woman knowing her hour was coming was shaken by the turn of events that had brought her to her death bed. Full of faith and yet the hour of her minister arrival only gave her the strength for the hours ahead. Reminder of Christ being there for her upon the hour she would be taken home to be with her Lord. Yet a little fearful of the journey that laid ahead the minister reconfirming the hope in her heart of what she knew to be true. That Christian fellowship one more time with one of the saints of God, who was strong in faith too.

Why would any person of faith need the reassurance of victory in the middle of a crisis in their life. Jesus is right there in the boat with them, only resting. God is resting in the middle of our storms. It not the Sabbath day rest it is relaxing ready to defeat the storm, the fear of our hearts with His word and reminder of faith. The disciples of faith in a boat came and woke the Lord Jesus only for him to rebuke them saying ye of little faith after he rebuked the winds and storm around Him. To the disciples amazement the storm hushed her winds. That fear of final journey, the fear of storms in the journey to come is only hushed with the waking of our Lord. A little prayer in the middle of the wind storm with rain coming, can be felt with the calming of the rocking of the ship and the calming of the strong breeze that is blowing.

A cancer patient with the cure having to go through the storm of treatment is only saying Lord calm the storm. The treatment coming with each step of faith, but the fear of being over taken by the treatment is far greater then one can imagine. Knowing when it is over the body will do the final healing process from the war that was just raged against the cancer. In the mist of battle Christ is gently waiting for the call when the storm is strong and billowing over our ship. Reminding of faith of what lies ahead whether it be life or going home to glory land. Christ is resting in the calm even in the storm. We just have to grab hold of him to calm our storm and our fears of days ahead.

It takes faith in life to go through trials and tribulation and know victory is in sight. To go through a storm without the Savior is to go without the captain of a ship through treacherous water. You might make it through but it is much better with expert who knows where waterfalls and the rocks are in water rapids. One can stay clear of danger on the river if one listens to the captain of faith.

Faith comes with seeking of the one that can calm the storm for He rest in our storms for even the devil has to quit when He says so. Job went through a trial only to discover that when the Lord told Satan no more the tears had to roll and his friends too were brought to their knees. Our storm might not be just for our benefit but the benefit of others. Can you imagine Job’s friends after his hours of temptation. Can you image the joy of seeing their friend restored after suffering. The victory obtained with repentance and faith. Yet Job’s suffering was not just for his benefit, God does not allow the devil to tempt you, without planning a revival of more then just one person. What about Job’s wife. One can only imagine how her faith grew.

Truth of the matter if Christ is in you why are you not walking in the calm in the middle of a storm. The devil does have to obey even God and His Word. Yet our storm might have several ways it can end, it never means we do not have victory. Victory comes with life and death. Either we are home with the Lord, or are walking on with God in the journey ahead in life knowing the devil is defeated once more for us.

In the storm you need to be preparing that victory dance. Setting your faith on what will come, despite the problems one faces. Keeping one’s eyes on Jesus asking Him to destroy the storm. Knowing He will when He wakes from his nap, or when the time of testing is done. God’s is in control keep the faith and wake our Lord for the battle. He already knows about the storm. Just waiting for you to allow Him to end it.

Dear Heavenly Father we ask you to move the storms in life by your Son’s command to calm the storm. Allowing your word to have final say over those devils. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
