I need God every hour and every hour, what about you? The need of God is not to rise from the bed in the physical sense, or to have the determination to rise, but I need God for every breath and life flowing aspect of my life to glorify Him. If my purpose is to serve God then I need the ability to glorify God even when that enemy attacks. No one can do that perfectly, I do not care who you are. You can be the most righteous person on the planet and feel the anger toward the opposition in life. When the enemy pierces you with a dart how do you respond? Is it praise the Lord or a curse? Our attitude needs to be check first even when the enemy wants to cause confusion and chaos. Yeah first put a band aid on the wound so the blood does not pour, or in this case revenge. The word of God is the band aid.
A little sab and a bnnd aid is going to help in praying for our enemy. That the confusion be sent to them instead of us. That the enemy fall on their knees before God for even shooting those arrows in the first place. That God will get the glory due him, despite the enemies confusion. That the enemy be confound by the power of my God and not me. That the very war waged back on the enemy be so great that he knows it was God’s hand and not mine. I am weak with no strength to fight at times. Yet I know the one that can provide what I need for the battle.
The problem with paying for destruction for our enemy it sounds as if one is asking for disaster and harm. In truth what a believer should be asking is the enemy be destroyed not necessarily in physical sense but to the point of the enemy be weakened and in need of God. If the enemy is in need of God as you are, guess what he bows before God, then he going to be on the winning side of victory, the war you have will have to end and be solved with peace and liberty. One of the best things we can do is pray for our enemy but also to pray for our needs when fighting the enemy. If we are in need of God, then we have a need to make sure what we are doing is in the will of God. God can not be your deliver and help if you are in the wrong. Saul and Jonathan died instead of prevailing in war because they were in the wrong. Adam and Eve died because of following not God but the serpent. Jonah found himself swimming for dear life because he was in the wrong before being swallowed by a fish. Jeremiah found himself in a sewer dungeon because he had been in the wrong. Yet those in need of God like Jeremiah and Jonah when running still found victory when they began to do the will of God.
Jesus in human flesh found the need to say Father not my will but thine, if nothing more as an example to us. His hour of weakness before the cross was hour of victory because He desire God’s will to be done. Being beaten and crucified does not sound like victory, but it was the victory through the resurrection that caused Jesus own weakness victory by obedience to God. Our weakness is not time to be in disobedience, but the very hour to be in obedience.
If we learn nothing else but obedience even when it hurts unto death, for the victory is ours with eternal life. The proof came with the resurrection. Christ pain was for His gain and ours. Why not quit if there was no victory there be no use fighting. Fact is our obedience to God shows who child one is at the crucial hour of weakness. God will provide the strength if we obey Him. For when we are weak He is strong. If walking by the Spirit of God, then the impossible we thought could not be done will be done by God’s Spirit and power to defeat the enemy. To confuse the enemy and to bring the enemy to their knees. The soldier that nailed Jesus hands or pierced his side perhaps was the one that said he must have been the Son of God, when the ground shook with a quake. Yet the thief lost on the cross calling Jesus names, found no hope for eternity, yet the defender would soon be in paradise with Jesus. His victory because he knew he deserved his punishment, but Jesus did not and so he defend Christ on the cross.
Can we defend our Lord, then even with the cross defend His righteous call. I write about how by Jewish law Jesus claim of being God was enough to get him crucified. Yet Jesus was who He said he was and for that reason He deserved not human death. The justification of human religious and legal laws make no sense at times. Yet the proof of who Jesus was came by the life he lived. Jesus paid the price for who He was. A price you and I could not pay. Yet looking from a mental aspect of the situation one has to ask did He deserve death. If a man today claims to be Jesus, what does one do. We are told not to believe it. In truth the action of the devil will be seen even if his generosity is to a fault. The devil will look like Jesus but will be nothing but the opposite. When one fights those that masquerade as angel of light they often can buy their way out of anything. To know the enemy to be in opposition to God while looking like angels of light is important for survival. Important to know when you are listening to God to be in submission to His will and not your own judgment. The enemy will not stand even in our weakness, because the power of God is strong enough to knock the devil down one more time.
Dear Heavenly Father teach us not to rely on our knowledge but to rely on you and to walk by your Spirit in truth and righteousness, even when the devil looks strong. Lord cause the enemy confusion to the point you bring him once more to His knees. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
