|Man's Prevailing And God's Power
Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris
Man might think he prevail against God , but in reality God is fixing to have the victory. As Jacob wrestled with God, he would win against God and man that very night. Yet if you win against God beware God only let you think you won. The touch of Jacobís hip socket only proved God only allow him to win and then only to show his power by hurting him. Jacob would greet his brother with herds going before him as gifts, only to findhis brother rich in livestock, so rich he needed not the gifts of Jacob. Yet Esau would weep upon seeing his brother. Genesis starting chapter 32 and going into chapter 33.
Jacob first wrestling came with victory over Esau by the stealing of His birthright. Jesus a servant of God and a servant of man found himself being a lamb for the slaughter before the law of man and the law of God. Both prevailing against Jesus. Pilate gave into the crowd and religious leaders, when they rejected the offering of a harden criminal.. What the crowd and religious wanted was to crucify Jesus. They cared not of all the good He had done or the miracles. They only seen Jesus a threat to their freedom, because of his radical views and He declared his own Lordship. God allowed Jesus to be seized by soldiers in the garden, only for religious law to also prevail against Jesus before the legal law at that time. Yet through Jesus resurrection God would prevail through His Son.
God only allows man to win against him for the greater good. Yet man often thinks he won for a short period of time. Jacob felt the pain in his hip and the people felt the pain of their soul as they realized what they did to the Son of God. Yet Christ crucifixion was for our benefit, to demonstrate how man power to misuse Godís word can only stand for a time before Godís truth prevails. If you going to battle against the devil or God use Godís word to win the fight. Yet God will put you in your place to demonstrate His power.
As Martin Luther King went to march against our land, He used our laws to win his battles. Only way to win against our government is to know the law and to obey it. To fight for freedom one must know God is only going to allow you to go as far has his law and the government you abide in. Martin Luther King learned to prevail to victory of freedom. A freedom only as precious as those laws that protects others. God prevailing in the heart and lives of man can only come through His law created before manís. Have a Happy Martin Luther Kingís Day remember your rights are protected by the same laws that set any group of people free. Yet Godís word always prevails so make sure you fighting on the winning side.
Dear Heavenly Father remind us daily of your power in our life and your victory to enable us to overcome by your Word. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
