Unless in Islamic history there is no other history that I am aware of where people gathered to Jerusalem as in the days of Jewish rule to worship in temple and after the time of exile. A time of gathering of people far and wide to the temple for worship of God. A type of power and strength from God over the nation’s. No one had to bow to God at these times, but they did. Jews and Gentiles came from all over the known world from Ethiopia, Egypt and the surrounding Arab world to worship in the temple. Today thousand come to the land of Israel to see the place where the temple is, and worship there both Jew, Muslim and Christian. Even Gentiles come if nothing more to see this historical structure that been rebuilt. The house of God, that effect history so greatly and great wars have been fought over. This one temple represent the strength and power to control “God’s People” Yet today Islam set on the temple mount not caring if they destroy any Jewish architect, or history that might remain even on the fabrics of the floors. A few years ago I read article about the very rug removal out of the temple was trying to be stopped so that any writing that may have been under it might be recorded by the Jewish people. Islam felt the rugs had no sufficiency and threw them out like garbage. The pain of Israel is that they are no longer on the temple mount as leaders.
Whoever ruled in Israel on the temple mount has had religious control across the world. The power of something that is man made is ludicrous to those who understand its significance. For the Christian it is only a remember of their own Jewish origins today and for others it represents a power of control over religious rites performed there by the masses. No one can fully understand this beyond the fact it is suppose to be the one true God’s House. There was no other God from the ancient world like God. Yet because this temple mount been destroy, resurrected, taken and even restored and defiled for centuries the power seems to have fad to the rest of the world. The legends seem like fables with no hold but historical value of one control over many nation’s.
Some people will not like what I have implied this morning about the temple of God. Yet in all retrospect looking at history it become like most temple building except for the power it had to draw all nation’s to itself. The God of the Bible still having the power to draw all groups to it. Yet God is not in a box, He is in our hearts of all believers, and uses the earth as His footstool. God’s power to draw all people to him through the temple and through the cross. Christians long for the place where we all gather heavenward to worship at the throne. For not only the Jewish people are there but thousand of Gentile believers in Christ. In Christian faith there is no one there besides these two groups of people according to Revelations. Yet the number of Jews are record as 144000 from each tribe. The image of heaven is the hope of eternity to come to worship at God’s throne. The temple mount only a small representation of the actual throne of God.
The strength of the call of God toward heaven upon death to the rapture. To the call of God from a particular place in the lives of missionaries to bring people to worship him. The calling of God’s people around the world to worship and know the one true God through Christ Jesus. Sounds awesome though to all believers, and yet to none believer it sounds like a devilish cult and about control. Yet ii is further from the truth. It is the one thing both rich and power can have in common putting them on equal ground the worship of God and Christ Jesus. Only people of faith understand the power and strength of their God to draw them to worship and to bended knee around the altar. God right now is preparing His people to draw nigh unto Him for the biggest worship ever seen in gathering around God’s throne in heaven and in the New Jerusalem. Anything man does on earth is only a small image of this event. Yet the Spirit of God calls his people to the altar of praise and worship. To the altar of repentance. Strength of God to draw all people to worship Him in spirit of truth and righteousness of faith.
Dear Heavenly Father draw us to your throne of worship. Let us worship in our hearts and minds no matter where we are waiting for the greatest day of worship at the throne of heaven for eternity. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
