Jesus Chooses

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

John 6:63-71 KJV
63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.
65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?
68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.
69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.
70 Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?
71 He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.

The words of Christ are disturbing if read in modern language because when we talk of life spiritually one might go on to consider are you talking about death and spiritual going to heaven. It is not what this verse is talking about. When a person walks by the spirit of God he walking in this world in the human body with real physical needs. There is some that would love for you depart and be on your way into the Spirit world but I am not one of them. If we live by the Spirit, does it mean our flesh is not feed. No because God knows your need of your physical being. However if you fast according tot he will of God and obey Him, the bodies need of physical food is not necessarily as needful as one might think during a time of fasting. God's provision can be more then spiritual but also physical. Did not God provide in the wilderness manna from heaven for Israel. To walk in spirit is to surrender your physical need over your spiritual need not always. To walk by the spirit to yield to his will is to trust in God for deliverance. There were 12 disciples all following Christ spending long hours on the road with Jesus. All were choosen by Jesus, even Judas Iscariot the one that should betray him. The disciples had not learned to walk by the Spirit yet, because they were following Jesus their teacher, friend and comforter. They were learning about God the Father, and Jesus. The Spirit is present but not understood perhaps The Spirit of God is what compels man to obedience to Jesus, and the flesh does not profit. The word's Jesus spoke by the spirit is spiritual truth, that many of disciples might not of fully understood at first, because they were in the mind frame of following Christ in submission to his teaching as far as being part of the ministry of Christ, helping out in the ways Christ would of asked of his disciples. They brough forward people in need of healing, they protected him against the crowd and they fished for food still. They were still learning to be an assistant in ministry and not leading in ministry. Jesus says the word he speak is spirit and they life.

To learn that the spiritual word is life, it offers protection to those in submission to Christ word. Now believers that walk by the spirit may be persecuted in the flesh, but that does not mean one disobeyed the word of God. Persecution is from blindness of others. It is the attitude that you think you so perfect and you act as you never do anything wrong. Yet it is the person that see you walking by the spirit of God not understanding your humanity, your imperfection, the ability to not always be right. It is frustrating to people that see you not stumble when you going through a crisis, or through a hard spell and you are choosing to still praise God for his blessing even when the storm is all around you. It is there perception that causes them to be upset, angry and even questioning your mental state of mind. Yet the problem is simple, they need to look a little closer and see your humanity, see your tears, your weakness. Not to see your weakness ot try and destroy you but your humanity, the fleshly need of humanity with or without God. Elijah fast 40 days but did he not need for his journey, was he not running in fear. Their problem is not yours, but sometimes to show your humanity is only a reminder of the fact you choose to deal with your problem by laying in the hands of Jesus. People need to hear your cry to God at times, so they know. They need to see the stumble of temptation.

Jesus choose all to follow him including Judas Iscariot the one to betray him, but he would follow the devil instead of Christ. Jesus knew already Judas desire. We choose daily who we follow. We put on Christ or we put on the devil in our actions are our deeds. Jesus was teaching his disciples to listen to his words of life. Jesus in the verse that precedes the verses I post actually talks about eating of Christ flesh and drinking of his blood. Jesus is talking spiritually and not actually eating and drinking any one's body. In fact what he speaking is taking the cup of persecution and eating of bread of life the word of God for spirit. Be willing ot drink the cup of the Father's will for your life. Christ cup in the garden was taking up his cross to do the will of the Father. The cup is the life flow of Christ and the bread the manna from heaven. It is the spiritual journey and trip that is not always one persecution but it is serving God has he has called you with a willing desire to follow in obedience, despite your own desire or will.

What Jesus was teaching was a hard lesson to his disciples, not all would desire the cup of obeying the will of God. Yet Judas through his disobedience was also obey God. Yet he would find remorse for his actions, but no forgiveness. It was to late for Judas sought repentance not onto God but unto the religious leaders, he had not found Christ spiritually, nor his of life believing in Jesus. I want to make a comment, I said I did not vote for President Trump, though he won the election. Do I believe President is God chosen, God chosen all presidents are God chosen, but I also believe that God chosen is not always godly in ever since of the word godly. Judas was Christ chosen, but it does not mean he was of God. Is Trump trying to live a Christian life and help the people of his nation, I truly hope so. I seen a report online today, I have not had time to investigate that said food was being export to China only to be made into something edible and shipped back to America. I thought to myself that is ludicrous. Does this make any sense? So my advice if you got time and see this type of posting check into it. It maybe something that been happening for a long time. It just may sound strange when brought to my attention, I decide perhaps I would shed some light on the subject. It like if Florida and California sent all their oranges to my state to make orange juice, it makes no real sense. My state would be more likely to grow grapes and make wine/juice from it then to ship it to alaska to make juice. The cost of food goes up with all the middle man. The point being strange rumors surface and it been going on for years. Let be careful what we are spreading whether it be truth or not. I be truthful I be doing some looking into it and also hope some other will be too, one might be surprised why food prices are so high. And I will do the same.

God's word is precious to us that walk by the spirit it is our life line to obedience to God, but it also light by other which others can see Jesus in us. Let us obey God word in truth and righteousness, bearing the cup that God deals us in service to Him and Christ. Let his word feed our soul, so we become more like him in our walk of faith.

Dear Heavenly Father, help us to observe the life of Christ so we understand his will for our life as will as our hope. Feed our soul with your word and spirit, so we will be fruitful doers of your will in our life. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
