Mercy And Love

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Luke 6:27-36 KJV
27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.
30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is me.

What is true mercy. If God choose to never show a person his wrath is that mercy? If a person never seeks revenge is that mercy? God demonstrate mercy upon the earth until like in the days of Noah the flood came because the evilness of man had reached the heights of heaven. The tolerance of God is until it so gross, that if God does not correct like in the days of the tower of Babel, man will only see God wrath as judgment. The tower of Babel in Genesis 11 is a story where man tried to reach God by building a tower to heaven, only for God to see it and confound man's language, so no one understood each other. God's correction might seem unjust, but in reality it allowed man to be separated from each other to learn about God's mercy, grace and hope. When Man thinks he can not be destroyed, God separates them or cause division for a fall. All the dominos are stacked and it only takes one to topple the whole plan of a group of people. Now if you on God's side you only have to worry about what you doing and if your doing it God's way and not your own way. God's army needs no tower, needs no wall, and needs no human leader. God's people can work in unison without direction from man, they only need direction from God. God mercy on the devil trying to control the people, trying to raise an army, trying to make sure their military is stack in rows like dominos better think again, who is in charge and is God is control or is man. For the wrath of God is going to fall on those that show no mercy.

It is hard to talk about God's mercy, because his mercy has to do with his tolerance of waiting for man to realize their need of Him, and not the need of their desires. Desires fade in time, seldom do they last. You want this or that only to toss it out once the desire to possess goes or the object is worn out.True desire last a life time. If you desire God in your life, it will not be a passing fancy. God has mercy on all that repent. God's wrath only come to children of disobedience. Sometimes in the form of consequences and sometimes punishment like the exile of both Judah and Israel. The Northern and Southern Kingdom. Maybe the hardest thing to grasp is could Israel had overcome the kingdom of Babylon from taking them into exile. The technology was more advanced. Could Israel had won a battle against these vast moving kingdoms. If God is for his people, who is against them only the enemies of God who God will destroy.

Now Christ came teaching and preaching about God's mercy, wrath and love. He did not talk about God's power in regards to battle but in regards to final battle. How is the final battle one with God's wrath. How is the battle of God being fought with his love and mercy today. What battle are we fighting today, it has to do with following after Christ and living for Jesus or doing it the devil's way. The enemy even has decide Jesus way seem okay too. They believe in Jesus's way and love but are not saved from God's wrath or judgment. What then can we say if the enemy loves and we love them in return. Showing the enemy mutual respect and living in peace what reward is in all love and mercy if our enemy even shows love and mercy at times.

That why the signs of God follows the believer. Rejoice if you see a miracle, rejoice if the storm ceases, rejoice if a person you prayed for his healed, rejoice knowing your name is written in the Lamb's book of life. Sinners learn and see the fruit of the love of a believer without knowning God. They mimick the love of believer and love of others because humanity learns from each other, never knowing the spirit of God or desiring to know the spirit of God. As a believer continue to love and do not seek revenge against the enemy, but carry on knowing by faith the miracles and signs that follow done in the name of Christ only testify of who God is to the believer and that faith is still powerful in the world today.

Dear Heavenly Father, help us to have mercy, and love even when the enemy does not. Help us to love even when our reaction is to hate. help us to love and show mercy and grace despite how others treat us. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study for Devotion:

Luke 10:16-23 KJV
16 He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.
17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
23 And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:
