God's Story: Lesson 26
12/26/2021

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Isaiah 42:1-10 KJV
1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
2 He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.
3 A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.
4 He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.
5 Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:
6 I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.
8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.
10 Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.

God chose the children of Israel to serve even in time of unbelief and Idolatry. In times of sin, God is going to turn his children to him. Yet there cases of people like Queen Jezebel and King Ahab, who were full of idolatry and sin that God destroyed them. Can we fight God? We might wrestle with God, but God is still always in power, control and his still sovern, despite our own wrestlings of even unbelief. God choose his people. Not like a person choose a pet. More like a pet might choose an owner. I had kitten that came to my house. Did not want another cat, but this kitten came despite my desire not to keep him. He spent three weeks outside my house before I finally took him in. Then despite my fight not to take up with him, he thinks I am his human mommy. The kitten chose me as his owner, I can say I did not choose him. People often choose their friends much like this kitten choose their friends. Unknownly discovering either true friendship or enemy in their wake. God chose Israel to be a nation called by his name, he knew there be times there be people who did not believe or honor him in their nation. The enemy comes only to one day be destroyed.

Yet if one is elected it does not mean we are necessarily people of faith. God choose people for a purpose and for his will in their life. Does that make them believers, the answer is still no. Yet what does is allow nations like the gentiles to believe along with Israel and along with God's people. Yet many believe but never receive God or his Son as a personal God. God can not change his position as creator of heaven and earth or even light. God can not change his position as God. Yet he steps down and says his word will govern him and the people. His word declares who he is, but also declares the truth of his word. When he elects someone for a purpose Jew or Gentile, it means he doing something, otherwise he allowing you to make a personal choice yourself. Does that mean these people never had the opportunity to receive beyond the will of God, personal faith in him. King Cyrus of Persia was anointed to restore the Jews to their homeland. He also gave much wealth to the temple.

Not everyone that aids or helps God's people are believers in him. It more of democracy attitude of these people are not hurting anyone kind of thing. Even gentiles like Israel not because of laws necessarily but because they see the fruit of their labor, the fruit of their love given to them. What boils down we might choose our true friends and brotherhoods and sisterhoods, but we can not stop God from being already elected as ruler of his Creation, or him putting in place people that will do his will, his love and even his peace. Jews had respect for a king of God's choosing that was not necessarily a godly king because of idolatry. When one looks at election and God's will, those individuals still make a choice to obey God or man.

What is an idol something made by human hands, the human heart and soul they feel is superior to God. God is many things to many people, but there is still only one true God. Even with explaining about Jesus conception, birth, and his divinity and place in the Godhead bodily, one still fines faith in the triune Godhead as a believer. Let me explain when God created the heavens and the earth, the laws of God's science did not change. His recipe was uncorrupt as his word was not corrupted, because he used his word to create.

Now man corrupted his world he created by the power God gave them to either obey his word, or to try and destroy his word. In the forties in Germany there was Bible burning. Nazism tried to destroy God's word. Yet in the last twenty years we seen some to try and do the same in a southern state, not Virginia, can't remember the name of the state, but the world got shaken this was even happening in America.

God's word even with cross of Jesus was proven corruptible by man, and yet God through Christ resurrection prove his ability to reestablish and restore his word. God also proved with the cross that God's word would be judged by the world, and continually is judged by the world but He is able to restore it to perfection through His Son. God is going to break man's laws that violate his freedom in the world in which we live, to reestablish his laws. Now if your on God's team you going to face the consequences for man's laws that are broken, which means persecution of the saints of God, or you going to obey man's laws and never upset the apple cart of man. Sooner or later you will break man's laws. But will you do so in honor of your Creator or the honor of a medal for man. Is that golden award worth loosing your own soul.

Election is chosen, but our faith and our final decision of faith is ours. Yet God sent his Son to die for our sins, giving us a way of breaking his law to obey man? Not exactly, you choose your battles wisely. If God's called you to lead, you got to stand on the word of God and his alone and if you are called to serve in places like government then you have to stand on laws that are not always godly? Perhaps what we have to do is pray on everything that occurs, to decide if it worth global war of God's laws verse man's laws. Really think about our freedom, what it really means to us as individuals, what does our faith mean as individuals? And then do a lot of praying over issues that restrict our freedom of faith, liberty and the pursue of happiness, and freedom of speech.

Dear Heavenly Father, you elect us to speak, you elect us to the call of faith, you elect us, and yet do we receive your call. Strengthen our faith, so we stand on your word and fight the battles worth fighting for. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Isaiah 45:1-7 KJV
1 Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;
2 I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:
3 And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.
4 For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.
5 I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.
7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
