12/14/2020 Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris 10 And Balak's anger was kindled against Balaam, and he smote his hands together: and Balak said unto Balaam, I called thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast altogether blessed them these three times. 11 Therefore now flee thou to thy place: I thought to promote thee unto great honour; but, lo, the LORD hath kept thee back from honour. 12 And Balaam said unto Balak, Spake I not also to thy messengers which thou sentest unto me, saying, 13 If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the commandment of the LORD, to do either good or bad of mine own mind; but what the LORD saith, that will I speak? 14 And now, behold, I go unto my people: come therefore, and I will advertise thee what this people shall do to thy people in the latter days. 15 And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said: 16 He hath said, which heard the words of God, and knew the knowledge of the most High, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open: 17 I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth. If we search high and low through out scripture we will find prophesy for the Messiah even to nation of other gods. Moabite people a people laced together by ancestors to the Hebrew people dating back to the time of Abraham. The original ancestor was Lot, the nephew of Abraham. Ruth was a Moabite woman and a whole four chapters is dedicate to her story of love for mother in law a Israelite and her journey to find a second husband because her first had died along with her father in law and brother in law. She travel to Israel and there she would become the great grandmother of King David, and several greats grandmothers to Jesus. A moabite a foreigner but offspring from Abraham ancestorial tribe. If we study long enough we will undestand the line to Jesus, were people that worship God, but had other family members that perhaps did not. This false prophet Balaam could not prophesy what Balak's said to do because God would not allow Balaam to curse Israel. Yet God gave Balaam a prophesy of a future King that would rise out of Israel and smite the Moab on the corners and destroy the children or descendants of Seth, the worshippers of God. The point is clear that something was going to change and the people of God would be destoryed, but they were to look for this star/king/minister. A time of destruction. When did it occur at the time when Jerusalem fell again after Christ, and the temple destroyed. Christ would arise first and touch the outer corners of Moab. If you think and study a map the land of Israel at time of Christ, Christ walk around Moab, for Israel touch each corner of Moab territory at the time of Jesus. The Midianites were people who had a relationship with people of Balak. So this nation desire to see Israel destroyed. That is why Balak had order Balaam to curse Israel. However there was a time In Israel history the time of Moses that he fled into their territory and married into them. Also earlier then that account when they purchased Joseph the son of Jacob the great grandson of Abraham, from his brothers. This tribe and inter-mingling and desire to get ride of Israel for a long time. These would be the soothesayer/magi/astrologist/priest of a different God maybe Chemoish, because of land they were from, that would come seeking Jesus not knowing where he was born, but following the star westward coming from the east to see Jesus, the new born king. All because of ancient prophesy of a star that God forced Balaam to prophesy. What we see is the curse comes with the story of the fall of Jeruslem in 70/90 AD. Were God's people destroyed, no they were sent forth to proclaim the good news of Jesus, Those that denied Christ, fell into destruction. We see a rise in the Jewish faith in 1948 as Jews go back to Israel. Those that worship only God and not the Messiah, they still seek the Messiah. Destruction does not mean necessarily complete annilation. Right Islam is in the temple mount. There is a mess that happened, but we know for the anti Christ to rise it will come again against the nation of Israel, only for God wrath to come on the world. We know Christ children will rise up to meet him in the air. There some gaps in my thinking this morning, but some scholars more verse then I am on end times. Those you read, but beware not everything spoken is necessarily true, follow God's Spirit and His Word when seeking truth of current prophesy, but no that even false prophets can not speak beyond God's will. God did not deny truth from those opposing him. He gave all awareness of his Son coming. So thsoe of unbelief beware God is making it known to you this morning that Messiah lives. He died on the cross for our sins and rose to victory and will return. Not only that but God's word reigns in heaven and on earth. All that will believe and confess the Lord Jesus and repent/turn away will be saved. Dear Heavenly Father, open the hearts of the unbelievers to your Gospel of the Messiah.
