Time of Christ: The Joy Of The Impossible
12/19/2015

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Luke 1:34-66
(34) Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
(35) And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
(36) And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
(37) For with God nothing shall be impossible.
(38) And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.
(39) And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;
(40) And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.
(41) And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:
(42) And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.
(43) And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
(44) For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.
(45) And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.
(46) And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, (47) And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
(48) For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
(49) For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.
(50) And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.
(51) He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
(52) He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.
(53) He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.
(54) He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy;
(55) As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.
(56) And Mary abode with her about three months, and returned to her own house.
(57) Now Elisabeth's full time came that she should be delivered; and she brought forth a son.
(58) And her neighbours and her cousins heard how the Lord had shewed great mercy upon her; and they rejoiced with her.
(59) And it came to pass, that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child; and they called him Zacharias, after the name of his father.
(60) And his mother answered and said, Not so; but he shall be called John.
(61) And they said unto her, There is none of thy kindred that is called by this name.
(62) And they made signs to his father, how he would have him called.
(63) And he asked for a writing table, and wrote, saying, His name is John. And they marvelled all.
(64) And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue loosed, and he spake, and praised God.
(65) And fear came on all that dwelt round about them: and all these sayings were noised abroad throughout all the hill country of Judaea.
(66) And all they that heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, What manner of child shall this be! And the hand of the Lord was with him.

The fresh winter snow began to fall last night, only another reminder that winter is here. Yet it not the snow that makes the winter but the date of December 22 of winter Solace. How long Israel had wait for the coming of both the forerunner of the Messiah as well as the Messiah. The time of being without God, by no means no. God never forsook those that believe in Him. Yet there was a time in the history of the nation of Israel that it appears to be without God favor as well as God’s presence. A nation without God is a nation without the people accepting the authority of God and His will for their lives, though it still exist. The rejection of God’s authority is one the most seeable destruction of a nation. It means anything that people will accept or agree is okay in their laws, then has no covering beyond it own laws.. It has no place for impossibilities only scientific proof that something ordinary happened to someone it was impossible to happen too. The recourse of impossible becomes how can this be instead of receiving it has a gift from God. There are things in this world not defined by science but by an act of God. Until the non believers reach that agreement that there things not define by natural law of God, but the impossible law of God, a law of possibility defined by God’s word alone and possibility come to light by faith.

Ebola has a cure, but so does many other illnesses of this century, yet what man can not do is recreate an infant from just dna. Though science tries to change dna it can not reproduce a child or give it a soul of life. Without part one being female ova, and part two being a sperm there is no conception of life whether inside a test tube or outside a test tube. So the impossible virgin birth takes faith. Yet Elizabeth to old to have children gets pregnant. This impossible conception was a sign to Mary of the conception of the Word of God in her own womb. The impossibility spring to life. God reversing natural ability to conceive to making it possible. Elizabeth knew first hand the reality of the impossible being possible.

Mary sing of impossibility would carry over into joy throughout an area, that had no faith because it was both Gentile and Jew. An area where the reality of God was only in the hearts of the Jewish people of faith, verses the law of nature understood by the Gentiles, but not the law of impossibilities. A witness to all. Miracles are that way a testimony to believers and non believers. Yet miracles are by nature something that can only be believed fully by those who have faith and those who lived near by that witnessed first hand the miracle. Faith takes the word of God and says I believe what God’s word says, and non faith takes the word of God and says I believe the historical evidence based on science and history.

For us with faith Zechariah own ability not to be able to speak would become a testimony as soon has he spoke the name of the impossible son called John. When he received his son in his arms and those around asked what is his name. The writing paper ready for the decree of something other then what Elizabeth had said who also declared the name John because of prophecy by her husband to her about having a child. No angel of heavenly origin had spoken to her. Yet no doubt her husband had written it down for Elizabeth so when it happened they could rejoice together. Mary a witness of the birth of John as well as knowing that age of these people it was impossible for Elizabeth to have a child, but she did. The joy spread like wild fire across the town and hill country of where they lived. Mary went home knowing the impossible was going to happen to happen to her has scripture of Isaiah had declare of virgin conception by the word of God. Joy filled Mary heart that day knowing God was truly with her. Faith was not just going to the temple but at the heart level. People need that same joy and hope of faith in Christ to know He will return.

Dear Heavenly Father give us the hope of the impossible of your return in our hearts and soul. Let it last us until the time of your Son Jesus’ return. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
