Dawning Of The Light

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

2 Peter 1:17-21 KJV
(17) For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
(18) And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.
(19) We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
(20) Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
(21) For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

God’s prophesies are meant to be light to us in a darken world. They are not meant to be hid but light to others not just ourselves. Peter testified the voice at the baptism of Jesus was the same voice that he heard on the day of Transfiguration. Now these are to separate events, but events with the same voice. No one could of forgotten the day of Jesus’ baptism when God said, “this is my Son I am will pleased.” Yet the world would like to silence these events. Would like to silence the events of the Virgin birth and the resurrection of Jesus.

Yet only through new prophesy is the reality of old prophesy even believable for some, so the word of prophesy is not dead. For even Philip daughter prophesied. Peter is speaking through of events he witnessed first hand. Events that should not be silent but spoken about. Events known to have happened by more then one person. Not just John the Baptist and His disciples but the crowd. Bring to mind to those others that were there that day and witnessed the first event at the Baptism of Jesus. To speak and not to be silent, to bring to mind those who remember to those who do not know that can carry the story on. Prophesy is not meant to die but meant to continue. It not meant to be silent but to exist with part of the story telling.

Prophesy is to help others believe, to help prepare people for and when God speaks to them either audibly or to the heart. It is not to cause chaos but to bring hope to all that hear. The hope of what they already know in their heart. To testify of God and His Son. Let not the prophesy of the Gospels be shut but let it stir the heart of every believer that lives and will live. To all that will come to know Jesus.

Prophesy is to rise and shine in the heart of the believer and become a star in the heart of the believer. The word is God is not to be hide but shine in the heart of each believer from the spoke word of prophesy to the heart of faith that shines on and on in every believer. The believer once darken by the absents of truth and prophesy, but shines forth as a star upon faith. We are not the light of Day that is Jesus. His light out shines us all.

Dear Heavenly Father stir the heart through your word of prophesy in the heart of each believer so they know the truth of your word is true. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
