Psalms 30:1-12 KJV
(1) A Psalm and Song at the dedication of the house of David. I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.
(2) O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.
(3) O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.
(4) Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
(5) For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
(6) And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.
(7) LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled.
(8) I cried to thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication.
(9) What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?
(10) Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper.
(11) Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;
(12) To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

What does a king need from God? If one only look at David as being a rich prosperous man, one never sees David humanity displayed before the world, in his Psalms. The humbleness of King David will either get on your nerves or you will find it refreshing knowing even a king in all his richness and glory of wealth still found a need for God. Still found time to humble himself before the Lord. The most impressed I even been with a Presidents that have been a believers is their humbleness before God, yet not all have carried the torch of faith in their presidency. Anyone can take a cameo kneeling to God but it is the humbleness to say I am just like everyone else before God and must seek God grace too, that puts us all in place of understanding that even with wealth and power there is a responsibility to seek God’s favor beyond the wealth and power of man.

To David, God was his healer, Savior, merciful and His wrath short lived, made His mountain/kingdom strong, answer of supplication in mercy and truth, became his helper, and deliver, and turned things in life from mourning to dancing and turned his mourning to joy. David claim was seen in his life. Despite where he found himself, he found himself in the need of someone mightier then he was. David began as a shepherd boy in life only to be anointed as king by Samuel, and then to stand up against Goliath, to begin his road as a future king of Israel gaining the favor of the people. Yet David with a thousand voices singing and calling his name still found he needed to pray.

No matter your lot in life the need of God will always be their whether a person recognizes it or not. God’s blessings of mercy to all that believe and do not believe is great, yet His mercy is for a moment, and his wrath on the sinner short lived for those who come to repentance. Those who truly seek God’s deliverance. The blessings of God is his salvation, mercy and grace, sometimes this application of a need for these thing is overlook because the ability to buy and protect his often seen in wealth.

I use to get this annoying call from security agency that wanted to give me security. Finally one day I said I have all the security I need in Jesus. Yet the security still comes with a need to repent a need to trust, a need to depend on a living Savior found in God and Christ Jesus. God is our only Savior scripture says. Yet one might say Jesus is our Savior. Yes He is our Savior, but without God there is no Savior name Jesus. God sent Jesus to be the Savior to the World. Jesus is the Word of God. Jesus demonstrated for us how to live, even allowing ourselves to be sacrifice for others. David needed God not to be silent but to speak even his judgment to him. David did not want to be cut off from God but to hear the truth from God. Nathan was sent to tell David of his transgression, but without repentance, and God’s correction, there was no deliverance. David want it all despite the pain of correction, and yet he still found mercy and grace from God.

God’s blessings are not always about prosperity in life in the monetary means, but seen as spiritual. Anyone working hard can achieve many things, but God’s mercy is not obtainable, but receivable. God’s love and salvation is not buyable, but receivable. David understood this before Christ came to die physically on the cross. Yet it was through the cross all could understand God’s mercy and grace. Christ physical agony was short, but the spiritual agony continues as the sinners He died for runs from the cross instead of too the cross, because of the church not demonstrating their own need of mercy and grace. The greatest blessing of them all is our spiritual need being meet by Christ through God’s willingness to send His grace.

Be like David despite your station in life, or be the person running away instead of seeking God’s deliverance? It is up to you? The choice is yours. His unobtainable mercy can only be received by simply asking.

Dear Heavenly Father, I am a sinner in need of your mercy and grace found in Christ Jesus. I receive your grace and mercy for my sins first and forever in every aspect of my life. In Jesus name, Amen.
