Daily Devotions:by Christina Farris

Matthew 4:8-10 KJV
(8) Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
(9) And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
(10) Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Genesis 12:1-4 KJV
(1) Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
(2) And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
(3) And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
(4) So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.

Christians if we were told we would get a million dollars if one gave up their faith, love ones or so forth would you go for it. What would you sell for a million dollars. Jesus fast forty days and was offered by the devil everything including popularity, and kingdoms. Yet Jesus knew what was already his waiting for Him in heaven. God spoke to Abraham what he could have if he would leave his father’s house and go to the promise land. By Abraham living His Father’s land he was giving up the worship of many gods. Choosing to worship only one God, the God of Abraham. Abraham brought out of the land of his fathers on the desire of wealth and land. Brought out by hand of God to country surrounded by idolatry. One God, one faith, and one hope. Abraham a child of idolatry, but a person seeking happiness and relying on the promise of a God that had spoken to him.

What would give up for a God that had spoken to you about everything your heart desired. Yet the enemy could not gain God’s Son with the same proposition. Remember who is making the proposition and for what purpose. Abraham had no children, He had nephew that would come with him. Abraham, a man in search of money and prosperity, left his home in hopes for a better tomorrow. What laid behind Abraham that caused him to follow God one does not know. Yet we do know Abraham packed up his bags and went as directed by God. Abraham went for the blessings of a God that spoke to him of promise. God on his journey into the land that would be his would face a few obstacles that would give him the rights to a piece of land for the ages to come.

Are you willing to step out in faith. Are you willing to step out and believe the promises of God. Then are you willing to wait on the promises of God and His timing for the revelation of the truth of his promises. Prosperity is not always about material wealth but it is always about spiritual wealth. Abraham would gain spiritual wealth over time. Even with taking a second wife as custom in his world he grew up in. Yet seeing the promise of the birth of Isaac by his first wife, made him know that the word of God was true. Yet he had evidence with the protection of his wife and the prosperity of animals and land. He had more then he left behind.

With obedience come prosperity with what God has spoken to your heart about. No one can take the promises of God away from you. If God has declared it, then God is going to fulfill it. However to gain it, you going to have to follow God’s instruction. God does not hand you the key to enter into heaven without first faith and then obedience. One is saved by grace through Christ Jesus because of God’s love, but prosperity of heaven can only come with obedience. How many crowns do you lay at the feet of Jesus. How many mansions in heaven do you need, but only one to house your soul ? Did one receive the Gospel based on prosperity, or based on the love and need for repentance because one understood they did not please God because of sin? God’s promise of eternal life is for real, but the reason you have faith in God is also important. If it is only for what you gain, you might has well go get a sugar daddy, because you missed the boat. Yet God is willing to bless even if it is the first sign of faith of gaining the world because of belief in His Word. Sooner or later though true repentance and worship of God must come, or destruction will come even if it is only in death.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you that obeying you brings prosperity with or without faith, but we thank and love you for prosperity of faith, also seen the life of Abraham with the birth of his second born son Isaac. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
