Genesis 11:1-9 KJV
(1) And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.
(2) And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
(3) And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.
(4) And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
(5) And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
(6) And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
(7) Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.
(8) So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
(9) Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

When God takes away something or shuts a door from happening there is a reason. Sometimes the reason not so clearly seen. God desires His people to be united, not divided. If there is division then it is for a purpose. God desires his people to be great, but not for evil purposes, or for their own design. Cain built a city without the blessings of the Lord. Man creates many things without the blessings of the Lord in them. Some for good and some to only gratify or satisfy there own desires. The people wanted to unite themselves under one tower of their own design and not unite themselves under the power of God.

Being united under God is not grievous, it is by God’s Spirit that can unit only his people. God does not desire to destroy man’s creation, but as long as they leave God out of the picture to reach God on their own merit and not the way God intended for man to reach God then God is going to destroy it. Increase of evil reaches the height of heaven and destruction comes. Yet God’s people rise up and remain united by His power, then his people are successful. One can not reach God by their own design, but only God’s design. Calling out to God by just speaking is talking to God. Just humbly seeking God with one’s heart is the only thing needed to reach God. To reach God one only needs to ask for forgiveness of sin. One needs not a building or a tower to reach God. Church building can not reach God but the people inside it might reach God if they are doing it God’s way.

God confounding the languages was to teach them that He can divide and He can cause unity. He can divide people that want control and He can build those up that humbly seek Him. Destruction can come within minutes, but prosperity will one day happen over night when we reach heaven, not by our means but by the hand of God reaching out to take us home to be with Him, for all that believe and receive Jesus Christ as Lord. Christ was to be the one to unite us, yet man try as the do try to destroy Jesus, and yet they discovered they had no power to destroy. The sign of not rising til the third day was just proof he was fully dead, not just the water pouring out declaring his death, but the reality of his death being complete, so the world would know that they could not kill God or His Son. Up from the grave Christ arose. God’s word uniting the people once more through the cross. Uniting the gentiles to the Jews and Jews to the Gentiles. Seeing their part in the world.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for bringing unity to your people and causing confusion to the enemy. May your people rise with your blessings. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
