Time Of Christ: God Will Provide

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

>Luke 12:22-32 KJV
(22) And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
(23) The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
(24) Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
(25) And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
(26) If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
(27) Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
(28) If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
(29) And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
(30) For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
(31) But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
(32) Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

The Raven a black bird like a crow, with thick plumage. God feeds them, and yet God knows our needs as well. As children starve not knowing where there last meal is coming from or if they have eaten it, the idea is that heaven is near to them as far as death to life. As the strong survive we wonder why the weak did not find food. Education and weakness of poverty is interesting problem. A person taking a tribe of people and teaching them grow and raise their food is far better off then one only hand food and have no clue where the food came from or how it was grown. A child that never seen a cow or milk there of is far worse off then a child that raised on a farm to know where food comes from. God first gift to man was placing man in a garden. A place to learn about both vegetation and animals.

I often think of preservation of life in relationship of knowing God. All the miracles of food in scripture was based on a need for food. Yet the need of food is a part of human life. God takes care of his own that is known fact. It might not be a pizza, or a salad, but it be what is needed for human life.

Do people want more then what God will provide is the question and the answer is yes so people work to feed their families and they take time to worship God when time allows. Is it Godís way, not really, if you think about it. God desires us to trust him first and not our own means. To put him before even our plate at the table. Do we say grace? Do we thank the Lord for the meal in our stomach?

Is easy to ask why then do children that know not God starve, or go without a daily ration of food as in the time of Moses. Who can blame a child that is not taught about animal husbandry or growing a garden. Three is a reason for starving people some believe and scripture dedicates it because of sin and disobedience to him. Israel found themselves under siege and also in exile hungry and in need of food. The other day I seen a cold spell coming but hopefully no frost in the mountains.

God desires us to put him first before our physical needs. He not asking us not to work, or be self seeking of our personal needs, but to lay our needs aside first and seek Him for supply. God supplies through work and open doors as well as buying seed for planting. Yet Godís call to humanity to be ministers sometimes means doing without, in order to help another. Where does self sacrifice and following God stop or start.

It begins when faith is put first and our needs become our second response, especially when our supply is zero. People it hard to trust God for things we need, yet it should not be. It should be Godís provision even in the storms of life. Because starvation is a storm. As long is one hands are able food supply unless drought or famine in a land should be available. God never ask you to give up your work, that became a choice because your work took you away from God. The disciples still fished. And Paul made tents. Jesus is speaking of extreme of miracles by God to provide when it comes between Him and other things. Donít deny Godís call on your life for what you need, go and do for God knows you have needs. Preach and God will supply, he does not leave his ministers begging for bread.

Dear Heavenly Father help those that will follow your will for their lives to trust knowing of your provision for the road. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

(27) Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
