God Is Findable 4/25/2017
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisRomans 10:1-21 KJV (1) Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
(2) For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
(3) For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
(4) For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
(5) For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
(6) But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
(7) Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
(8) But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
(9) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
(10) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
(11) For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
(12) For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
(13) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
(14) How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
(15) And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
(16) But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
(17) So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
(18) But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
(19) But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
(20) But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.
(21) But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people. |
Life is interesting journey to say the least and to have God minister to people in his way is very unique, yet often mimicked. If you want to say I love you and have very little time to spend with a person you might send card or a note to someone. If it family there is always the I love you notes on napkins in lunchboxes and notes left in a specially spot hopefully to be seen for the one it was attended for. Yet this simple method is also tools used to spread propaganda and truth.
Imagine for a moment you live in a century where education is not mandatory. Imagine for a moment you get a drawing of a heart, and symbol of maybe a child and mother in the middle. Now you know the picture of a mother and child is special but the heart symbol has no meaning to you. Yet the cuddling of the child in the picture gives you a since of love. The heart lost its meaning but the image of mother and child does not. Give a picture of man on a cross and the people crying with soldiers standing by. The image is clear people did not want him dead. Yet the Bible declare the crowd holler crucify. Who is the people crying but his family and friends. The image clear not all wanted him dead.
The point is some pictures are clear about some things even without words. Yet when man write words they already knew how to create words. Yet with out a special stone to decipher the language, other languages were a mystery. Someone got the idea to put three languages on a stone called the Rosetta stone. This stone helped in deciphering more then three languages. Yet what occurred was unlocking of cryptic language of the ancients. Words telling a story for those that want to read.
God called a people that were not his own to follow. God sent messengers to share his love, yet the truth is people found God not just through people but through the word of God. Whether it was orally given and heard or whether it was read by some or through an artist drawing is never always clear. Yet people came to God’s word through the action of others as well. People see a society flourishing in wealth and prestige like Israel once was and people mimicked what they saw. They even mimicked the worship of God. Yet through the mimic cry of the ancient people found God or did God just think He was found and truth He knew what would draw them in to him. No preacher in scripture ever came by means of wealth to God. It always God’s still small voice, or sign like the burning bush. How people seen Christ crucified and felt the ground shake, only to realize what they had done with the image of the family of friends around weeping as he died on the cross.
People in motel rooms, in darken alleys finding God’s word for the first time as if God himself had placed it there, and truth maybe He did. Yet even the enemy does the same thing placing himself for people to find from bathroom walls, to graffiti on buildings. Slips of paper and pamphlets. God’s word trumpets it all. God’s word brings healing to the soul, The devil words never did. God’s word speaks about life and the ability to change. It speaks of repentance and turning from sin. Healing in its pages. The idea of I can change and be who I desire is even there, but the truth is true change never came without God. True changing and lasting change can not come without God. My desire to drop a few pounds on my own is only as great as the determination to exercise and stick to a diet. People claim peer support is a great motivator but those who learn better on their own know it takes self discipline. Do you work under pressure of peers haggling you all day or under self motivation.
When God changes a person it is through love of His Spirit guiding and directing to those that hear and listen to Him. Mother or Father simply taking time to explain and teach about life will quiet in child. There guidance often sought for years to come, even if not really heard. People seeking authors that speak to the soul. Yet there still one book that remains that speaks to the heart. In truth God speaks to the heart by His Spirit. People see animals and plants and wonder how they came to be. The word of God answers on a simplistic format, yet science has gain much knowledge on great lengths of how things develop. God also speaks the process of life through His word, from life to death and beyond the grave. Want healing it must began with repentance and a choice to heal. It begins first with belief and then action to change. People around the world understand that. Some people you have to prove you changed too and others especially God already know you changed because He cleanses the heart.
People understand the ability to change on one’s own but not the power of God to make changes not just done from good discipline and peer pressure. It is the heart change the last a life time. God’s word does this, because God first loved you and me and gave us the story of how He can change you and me, if we only will believe.
Dear Heavenly Father Change my heart Lord and let me be all you desire for me to be, for your glory. Satisfy my heart Lord for your honor. In Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study for Devotion: Hebrews 8:10-13 KJV
(10) For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
(11) And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
(12) For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
(13) In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.http://www.turtle30cshell.com
