Time Of Christ: Are You Trust God?
4/22/2017

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Luke 18:9-14 KJV
(9) And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
(10) Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
(11) The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
(12) I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
(13) And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
(14) I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Have you ever got into the mindset of see Lord what I am doing, or Lord see I love you only to find yourself humbled by the Lord. The Pharisee did exactly in his prayer what we teach good employees to do to exalt themselves in what they are able to do and their accomplishments. Did the Pharisees exaltation of himself only represent society and how they exalt themselves to look good when in truth hidden truth of how you got to your ability might be hidden. For example you finish up a job on the work sight and take full credit but maybe only did five minutes to work compared to the one that did over hundred hours. False exaltation of oneself gets one no where fast over a long period, it will catch up to you at some point. Yet the ability to skate by and look good to a boss or potential employer might be great. Yet when it comes to God who knows everything and knows whose power and might anything is truly accomplish the self exaltation does not work for mankind.

God first is not our equal, second everything that does and will exist is created by God either in operational since, or a move of Godís Spirit. Godís put things into scientific functionality and other things are caused by His Spirit to be done despite science says it must be done this way. Our desire for good works come from God. The truth is in Genesis chapter six it says all men are evil, yet Noah found grace from God. Noah was righteous because he had faith in God.

What does it mean to have faith beyond belief in order to trust God is recognize oneís own ability and power does not exist in one since. You have ability to do anything you desire with hard work because that how God designed you and everyone. Second God created us to glorify Him. In order to glorify God we first must recognize our inability or humbleness of Spirit that comes from our own inability to do anything we desire without the aid of God. The recognization of the origin of the abilities we do have. The recognition of the attributes in our life that is by Godís design. The attributes of God that motivate us to strive to be like Him, but never to hold his power or design for our life.

Recognizing our inability to please God on our own is another key to humbleness before God, but also the application requirement for faith to begin by simple recognizing our inability without Godís ability to change, to move, to be merciful in our life because of our inability to be as God wants us to be on our own. Some companies would like to claim that they created an individual ability through training and career improvement. This is a normal part of the business world, Yet the title really only belongs to God in reality, but in reality without God the business world would not grow in harmony to the ways of God, only on its own lead to a path of corruption even if it is a good company.

What I talking about is self exaltation that comes in the business world to be achievers to be exalting of oneís own ability to do. It is the way of the world. The Pharisees standing and say Lord I do all that you require of me and more and so I am righteous. The Pharisees his exalting his ability to be righteous. Yet righteous does not come by legalistic action, but it comes from believing in God. In other words the prayer in the streets by the Pharisees to be seen of men is leading people astray to thinking righteousness comes by action and not by faith and humility before God.

If faith and humility is part of righteousness before God then the publican in the above scripture says it all. The publican came seeking God through His inability, of being imperfect before a Holy God of perfection. So holy that his imperfection was unworthy to stand before Godís presence without humility. It is a recognition of Godís Holiness against the one flaw that God created in man not to be perfect, so our humanity would not think of ourselves as godlike, as being equal in power to God. Our thinking that we can do anything without God or because we have godlike qualities is falsehood and a lie from the devil himself. All things good come from God. Our ability to love sinner or saved sinner comes from God. He is the author of Love. Faith and Hope. These three things are given to man to teach man of Godís love. The love that comes by Godís Spirit to man when we do not want to love, but love anyway. The ability o bow before God not by our ability but Godís ability to humble us through Him speaking to our hearts of the need of humbleness before Him. Every one will bow and confess Jesus is Lord to God the Father. God never said everyone that would bow would want to or be humble in Spirit. When the men fell back in the garden before Christ Crucifixion it demonstrated Godís ability to knock man down and claim the power to crucify Jesus came from God. That the events that were fixing to take place came by Godís power and not manís. Could Christ break the will of God to keep from being crucified? Christ humanity dedicated his need to humbly go to the cross because His Father said so and it was His will. Godís power or manís power is in question. Man could not change the course of what they would do to Jesus. It would be by the power of God his Son would be falsely accused, beaten and crucified. Demonstrating what we do to the innocent world around us. God made man imperfect knowing man would eat that fruit in the garden. God wants man to understand his inability not to be God to make good choices for himself, that his choices are not designed by God. Our submission through our inability is Godís design, so God can demonstrate His ability to take our humanity and to mold us into people of His design and not people or our own design. God created us, for His pleasure, but our failings to recognize us being created by His design, in our imperfection, and imperfection to change without the aid of God must come to be humble before God. In truth no one is that humble.

We see ourselves people of ability to wake and rise without the will of God in our thinking but by our own power. In truth unless Godís creativity in building our human bodies can come from man, it will never be man power to wake and rise each new day. If humanity could sit all day and do nothing then that probably what our nature would dedicate or to do every heart whim we think is humanly possible for that day. That day you rise and go to work without thinking Lord it to early or do I have to, is the day that emotion declares something is good and right in the world either by our desires and wants or Godís ability to allow our world to be not tempted by the devil of destruction of faith,, bearing the thought daily of not having hope and the potential of prosperity for God glory and honor. And not only the hope and potential of bring glory to God, but destructive nature to bringing honor and glory to man alone. Many people exalt the mankind and themselves, but fail to lift God up into his rightful place. To exalt God truly takes an act of His ability, because we see His ability above our own. I can do all things through Christ but I can not do anything without Christ and His ability.

Dear Heavenly Father help us to recognize your ability above ours and your creativity beyond ours, so humbleness and removal of our ability to stand in your presence no long exist, but it through your ability we stand in your presence to serve you in humbleness of spirit and your power. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study for Devotion:Matthew 23:11-13 KJV
(11) But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
(12) And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
(13) But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
