All Power
4/20/2017

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Matthew 28:16-20 KJV
(16) Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
(17) And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
(18) And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
(19) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
(20) Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

All power that is already rightful Christ is given to Him. Is wording wrong? Jesus came as mortal man, as the Son of God and the Word of God. As the Word of God He already had all power. As the Son of God in mortal flesh he had all power. In death He had all power to conquer even the grave through resurrection. He had power over hell, and held key to set man free from eternity in hell. Pandora box in a since was open the minute sin enter into heaven through the eating of the fruit of knowledge of good and evil. Godís garden became impure. It had to be purified by getting rid of the transgressor and the tempter. There were those that sought God realizing the devil only had the power given to him and that was only a deception. For his power was lies and not truth. The devils lies will take you further then you want to go toward the place of destruction, where the word of God will take you toward heaven.

Jesus power never changed let us straighten that out, but it a reflection of the power of God giving His word power over everything from beginning to end. It is a reestablishment of the fact His word does not change His word remains intact even through Christ death and resurrection. Jesus said he word rise on the third day and so He did. Our word had little power if we tell not the truth. Yet truth only has power to those that believe, no it has power in both heaven, and earth. Saints might be killed, but truth will remain despite the lies of the devil. Devil will be and is defeated.

Jesus said to go and baptize all nations. Not just one or two nations but the world. Baptize the world in truth, righteousness and justice for all mankind. To baptize in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. To tell the world who is in power despite what the devil thinks. Fact is devil might win for a day, but he wonít win for eternity, if you will only believe in Jesus. Fact is the lies of Satan will be destroyed. As we spread the Gospel of truth and tell who God is, people will seek and depend on Jesus to the point they will know who He is and the power that was given him. The minute a person is saved, God begins to strengthen a personís faith through His Spirit. The older we get in Christ the more we learn about the war between God and Satan. More we know about truth of Godís word verse the lies of the devil that is deceiving those that know not Christ. God has plan to baptize those people too if they will only take the first step of faith by receiving Jesus as Lord and Savior. To listen to account of God and His Son. To hear the human record of God to listen to the still small voice of God.

My baptism of faith began after I was born into the world of sin. The Gospel of Jesus told to me by my family, by my church, and by friends. I sang the songs of Sunday school, not fully understanding what it meant to have Jesus come into my heart. Yet I knew I wanted Him there. Our humanity wrestles against the things of God as we get older and no longer sweet children in a Sunday school class, but adults dealing with adult issues and events in our life. Then we must weigh is Godís word still true for healthy living. The answer remains the same and always will, Godís truth is gold. His baptism is more precious then gold. His instruction by His Spirit and the evidence of what He speaks to the heart more precious then gold. When Jesus commanded his disciples to go and baptize he was telling them go and tell the story of my Heavenly Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit. He was saying go Disciples tell them about Jesus. Tell them about the hope of truth and healing power of God. Tell them of the victory over the grave. Tell that He loves everyone. To baptize the human race in love and not hate. It hard to love in times of persecution. It hard to humanly deal with the effects of others on oneís life at times. Yet God commands us to love as He did.

Finally He told his disciples to teach his children to observe what is taught and commanded. To know the difference between truth and lies. To know the difference between deception and truth. To know so we could follow only Jesus.

Dear Heavenly Father help us to know you through the testimony of others, your Word, and Your Spirit. Baptize your children by your Spirit so they truth and the difference. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study for Devotion:Titus 2:11-14 KJV
(11) For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
(12) Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
(13) Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
(14) Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
