Series God's Blessings: God Blessed Man 4/06/2015 Daily Devotions:by Christina Farris Genesis 1:26-31 KJV (26) And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (27) So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. (28) And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. (29) And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. (30) And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. (31) And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Does God bless people? How come I am not being blessed some people ask? In this series will explore God’s blessings and reasons He blesses people. Not all question will be answered today. However hopefully some of the questions you have about blessings will be answered by the end of the series. April is consider the rainy month of all months in USA. Because of all the rain the flowers are suppose to come abundantly. However dandy lions start as early as March in warm climates of the east coast especially in Virginia. If one cuts there grass early those flowers seem to sprout the day after as if you never cut your grass. However in cool climate regions like in the mountains it usually not til spring or April first part of the month when things begin to really bloom. And usually only those plants that frost can not seem to kill till temperatures reach below freezing survive early spring frost. The simple things of this world as plants coming to life because of rain seems like a trivial thought but in reality it is a reminder of blessings of God coming before the harvest. Without rain food does not grow and animals can not eat. Every season has it purpose. God blessed man. God blessed man after He created man. God placed Adam in the garden at some point whether it was before or after the first blessing I do not know. Yet God ordained man to have food to eat. He gave them herbs and animals for food. God gave man instruction to take care of what He gave him. To take care of the place he lives. A responsibility to all of us not just first Adam and Eve. God created man in His image and likeness, yet we are not God. Adam was not God. Eve was not God, though created in his likeness. Yet there are aspects of God man does not possess. The first gift to man was food. Those starving might say where my food. If one reads one will understand original famines came from God and yet God protected His people and demonstrated His power to other tribes by protecting them. The first famine takes place the time of Abraham and the second the time of Jacob son Joseph. God desires to feed us all, but our denial of him keeps causing issues. Those with food bringing it and sharing God’s love only reminds people of who God is by being a hand extended in the name of Jesus. We have responsibility to share our faith and explain the blessings of God first came by God’s provision of food. Do Christians starve, yes. It can be environment, sin, and do to living conditions of society. One has to ask what going on. Is it their fault or is something else taking place like in the days of Abraham when famine came and he went to Egypt for supplies. Joseph helped protect Egypt during the next recorded famine. Things happen for a purpose. However going through a crisis one might not be able to see the reason. God first blessing to man of provisions is that God is still providing for His people. God is still on the throne. God has not forsaken his people. God is going to bless, even if it is not steak. God is going to provide if it is quail from heaven. Crops grown every year is testimony of God’s grace on people. Dear Heavenly Father, let us thank you for our blessings given to all mankind. Your provision in times of famine, and abundance. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
