Luke 22:45-54 KJV
(45) And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,
(46) And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.
(47) And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.
(48) But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?
(49) When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
(50) And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
(51) And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.
(52) Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?
(53) When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
(54) Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest's house. And Peter followed afar off.

What is betrayal but the deception of friendship for the purpose of crucifying someone at a later time. Betrayal can be plotted or it can be forced into a situation to betray. The betrayal of a friend can break the heart of a friend, it can save a friend or murder a friend. The act of betrayal to the United States is an act of treason. Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss. A kiss that would be remembered by the believers for centuries to come. A kiss that would be more famous then any Hollywood kiss. Yet it would be a kiss that would mark the beginning of the journey toward the kangaroo court of the religious leaders and the legal system. A betrayal of two false witness in court. A betrayal that would be spoken for years by the church world.

Judas betrayal was ordained by God. No one wants to think of act of treason has ordination by God, yet it was. It was a call to betray so Jesus could pay for our sins by dying on the cross. Sometimes the journey to the cross does not make total sense when studying it. Yet the price was one perfect man for redemption because of the first man sin of eating the fruit that was forbidden. Yet woman would be saved in childbearing. Two different salvations, yet one combined through the cross. Woman being the burden bearer for years for reproduction until the time of Christ. The waiting for the Messiah that would suffer for all our sins. There were pagan cultures that sacrificed their children, never understanding God would provide the sacrifice for sin. God had no desire for child sacrifice. He would provide the sacrifice through the final sign of a virgin birth. A child that would have the spirit of God and would be the everlasting God, yet a prince of peace. John the Baptist was said to have been filled with the Holy Spirit from the womb. Yet to be filled is not the same has having the Spirit of God be your Spirit. The very Spirit to give you life by the Word of God.

The sacrifice provided by God for all mankind. A sacrifice of Christ coming and teaching and later seized, put on trial and beaten because of his ability to take power from the religious leaders, from the legal system. A power that was not in opposition of laws or authority. Yet because he drew a crowd, the leaders seen it as a threat to their way of life, to their way of stability.

Over ten elections ago there was a man that ran for Presidency and step down, though he had the vote of the people. He had money, he had prestige, yet some claim he was forced to not to run as President. Power is only has strong has the ability to allow diversity within the government. Three branches of government can become only one family owned like a mafia, thus becoming issue of control of all those not part of the mafia. Yet do you want opposition of those that are different then you in power, the answer in truth is no.

Jesus was in the garden at night praying when they came to get him with knives and swords. The party that sent for the arrest afraid of what the crowd might do during the day, only found it appropriate to take Jesus by night. Thus it is with any destruction of power in opposition to another, to destroy comes by night when those that should have been awake were asleep. It comes when the guard is down. When the idea of safety is proclaimed because the world surrounding you says peace and safety. Jesus found himself with ordination of death to come, because he had the favor of the crowd by not the leaders.

The soldiers came at night and Judas gave Jesus the kiss of betrayal. A kiss that should of meant friendship and brotherhood, only to mean death to come. A kiss that would mark the beginning the leaders thought to the end of this new religious movement and following. A kiss that would change the course of history. A course of destruction to a course of love. Yet it could not change the world without the death of Jesus. It could not change the world without the resurrection of Jesus. Without the resurrection there was no life and no love from above. Despite the fact we killed God’s Son by our sin, God still loved us to bring His Son back. God loved us enough to send His Spirit to the World so they too might be saved by the wooing of the Holy Spirit upon man’s heart, to change the world. The one death that would of caused human nature to destroy the killers, causes a love of God to keep loving through the rising of His Son.

The Mafia power now only having a short time to keep control for the rise of love would continue by the gift of the Holy Spirit that speaks to all believers the things of God. A war that can not be won by the devil, for the Holy Spirit needs no audible voice to declare his plan through codes or even languages, but only His Spirit. A person being able to have the cloak of the Holy Spirit upon belief, the cloak of the blood of Jesus that says you are a child of God, that the devil can not see, because all they do is find fault. And can not see their own.

The kiss of betrayal that would allow Jesus opportunity to speak once more to the soldiers of who He was and to remind them their act of seizure was not their authority to do so but in the authority of God. Meaning the law of God was allowing man to have rules and laws of their own making and for man to be in submission to them.

Christ’s power is about love and compassion for all mankind. It is the interweaving under the law of man that changes the world and its laws over time. It is the power that changes things by grace and not by anger or rage. The betrayer kiss, of betraying an innocent man, called by God and ordained of God to pay the price of all man’s sin.

Dear Heavenly Father let us love beyond the persecution of enemy as you loved us through the resurrection after the death of your Son. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
