Proverbs 31:9-31 KJV
9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.
10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

The biggest shopping event called Black Friday. It is sales to wait to shop for and looking of giveways in hopes to get the price you desire. After a long year with high prices will these sale effect the nation long term. Not really regular price change is normal this time of year. Only price gouging is not normal. I been shopping for over thirty years for a family of two and each year about 15 years ago did the price wars really begin to make me pull my purse strings tell I thought they could not be tighten anymore. What disturbed me it happens at Christmas.

I had ham last night I bought on sale in August. Had a turkey from a sale last year until May of this year, could not save it to Thanksgiving as planned. Yet it provide meals to get us through the month. Now every wife or husband that does their home stock work of groceries know that some items do not last a week. For some their grocery budget has no budget without end and the restuarants are flowing with them. There idea of hardship is not whether they stay stocked for hard times but whether they can fined a rare gem in all this Christmas madness for their significant other. Middle class adjusting with price changes hoping for a good deal and still buying on a limited budget items desired. This is the way of the world.

The truth of it all people buy either in luxury or in the poverty of their economic means to do so. Let's look at the busy wife in Proverbs 31. She is industries in all her activities of a nobel wife. She sells and trades the work and labor of her hands. She make sure her family clothed and fed. When Proverbs 31 one must ask where her husband is and we find him in the city gate conversing with the men. Though we have to recognize the time and place and that King Solomon is writting here. Had the king looked at his 800 wives and how they worked to provide for their family forgetting these same wives sacrificed children I do not know. Yet it is clear this wife in this proverb was productive in all her caring of her family.

Those that know the productivity of the home keeps it running knows their spending limit this year. Ladies and men don't over spend but enjoy your ability to gift give. For responsibility began in the one that does the most shopping and if one does not watch prices one might not survive our nation pricing wars.
