Day 17 of Our Thanksgiving Countdown 11/17/2023
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisIsaiah 53:1-12 KJV
1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
Christ the lamb commit no sin, yet he numbered with the transgressors. This is Friday November 17, 2023, Resurrection Day is in the Spring. Christmas month is fast coming upon us. This month is Thanksgiving. This month is a month of thankfulness, yet I find myself in Isaiah focus on the Lamb being lead to the slaughter, for a crime Jesus did not commit. Isaiah prophesied about Christ death. On Good Friday they crucified my Lord who broke not one law of God. However to the heathens he sinned casting the money changers out and exalting himself as a king, not knowing who he was as the only begotten Son of God. For everything to the Messiah death according to scripture, it could not be plotted overtime because the words are true would people understand the cross of God's Holy Word? Prophesy is like looking through a stain glass window. You can see there something on the other side but not grasp the full imagiery of what is on the other side of the glass.
Thank God for the witness that after Christ arose was no longer blinded to the truth of Isaiah prophesy. God's word/Christ in the flesh bears our sin on the cross, but first the trial, beating and torturer before the cross. How many atheist take God's word and abuse it. How many people abuse Christ today though they admit there is a God, how many babes and elders in Christ break God's word daily on their strive to obedience to God's word.
The strive to obey God's word as it becomes clearer on this side of heaven knowing the cloud of witness that seen it all and knew the truth of God's word with the resurrection, places us looking through stain glass with hope of eternity bright and glorious with Christ coming. That one day we will see him clearly who he is as we keep looking to author and finisher of our faith, his name is Jesus.
Dear Heavenly Father Thank you for stain glass windows, in Jesus precious name, Amen. Thanksgiving Countdown Thankful list Week 3: 8. 15. Time Of Dedication 16. God's law 17. Thankful for stain glass windows
Continual Scripture Study: Hebrews 12:1-3 KJV
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
1 Corinthians 13:12 KJV
12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
