turtle30cshell Daily Devotions For November 16, 2023
Day 16 of Our Thanksgiving Countdown
11/16/2023

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Psalm 50:1-23 KJV
1 A Psalm of Asaph. The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.
2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.
3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.
4 He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.
5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.
6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.
7 Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.
8 I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.
9 I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.
10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.
11 I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.
12 If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.
13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?
14Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:
15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
16 But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?
17 Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee.
18 When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers.
19 Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.
20 Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son.
21 These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.
22 Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.
23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.

Maybe this Psalms this morning remind us we truly have one thing we can offer God and perhaps in our humility we can see the simpliest praise being only thing we own that can given to God.

A storm comes and you loose all you maybe even the shirt on your back. You may realize nothing will replace one memory or one thought one has had over the years. Every argument, moment of frustration, even joy, moments of happiness wired from brain to our very soul. The very thing that effects are mood and emotion exist even in our heart.

Man could see there was and is a creator without his communication with man we only know him as our creator. Yet he is blamed for every storm and trouble in the universe. If God was more of a forceful God and not a loving God no one would be standing. When spoke his laws he wanted man to accept the good ways of humanity.

Ever tried to give a person a gift.God first gift was life and one rule dont eat from that one tree, then he gave man freedom in a world apart from his world in hopes to teach man the cost of sin.

The person that cant remember try remember the goodness of each new day, for negativity can and will destroy you if you allow it. Then God check on man and man was trying to reach God by there own means so God confused their language, one would think the flood would of kept people from the ways of destruction. Then God gave man the law to eat of it so they could live in peace and harmony, however the wicked people hate instruction. They hate the law of God. Yet all that offer God praises and strived to correct his conversation will he show salvation too.

When all who repent desire their ways changes to godliness he grants them his salvation. The only thing we can give God our heart, soul and mind, the very thing we praise God with. We must have a desire to know God to receive to be able to receive his word and to thank him for his word and his salvation through Christ Jesus.

In Romans 7:22 Paul writes he delights in the law of man. In Romans 7:25 he thinks he can serve the desire of his flesh and praise God with his Spirit. He is speaking from a Jewish culture raised in admonition of God and yet know forgives of his fleshly desires based on his heart. Is the thinking in error? Psalms speaks of obedience to the laws of God. In Romans 8 Paul says if you walk by the spirit you will not be fulfilling one's fleshly desire. Confluct he finish his argument in chapter 8. Yet God does give those healthy desires of our heart.

We can not praise God without desiring his ways for us and God see the inward man. You and I only see the outward show. God's grace is sufficient. Thank God for his law and delight on it. The law is to love God and to love others as yourself.

Dear Heavenly Father we thank you for gift of your Spirit that writes your laws as New Testament believers on our heart so hopefully we obey you in perfect praise from our heart despite our humanity to the law we desire to obey and do not always. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Thanksgiving Countdown Thankful list Week 3: 8.
15. Time Of Dedication
16. God's law

Continual Scripture Study: Romans 7:22-25 KJV
22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
