God's soldier that are entangled by the things of this life do not do so to please God. There two sides of man but both sides can effect the spiritual life. The one side of us that must strive in this world to achieve even simply livilihood can hardly not be entangled with something of this world. Yet if we desire to be fruitful and be hired we must know how to be a "good human", hardworking and dependable. All things God requires of us. It the warring to be on strike, to fight for fair things in the work place can make mere mortals into devil's. To war with laws of man that has nothing to do with faith or protection of humanity is much the same type of war that pleases not God.
You give someone a ride home to find out their home is the huges meth lab in country, you know you walked into the wrong place unless you have opportunity to share the Gospel. But dont entangle yourself with their worldly trouble. Even if your not involved in drug sales your going to jail, and if a person with drugs are in your vehicle and your driving sticks in your seat or under it and cop finds it you are going to jail. These are unnecessary and unnecessary entanglements in the world.
God not going to send you to a place you will be entangled or desire to be entangled without the power of the word no and a shield of protection going with you or surrounding you. Think again.
Paul was stoned and beaten for sharing the Gospel. Peter and John accused, beaten and imprisoned and still preached, why they felt it worthy to do so to share the Gospel and Jesus and suffered for God the Father too for a crime they did not commit.
Paul knew his Roman rights and use them to appeal to Caesar. If we entangled by the crime of sin which Paul never was and Christ though innocent entangled by the clearing of the Temple. Paul warning Timothy do not find yourself in a situation that your not on the just side of the law. Jesus justification comes with who he is, his authority given by God. Yet just because we have God's authority working for us, does not mean we can walk into a devil's den and not be entrapped by the devil because of breaking of the law even if innocent. The open square in villages was a place to speak about the name of Jesus.
Jesus strived lawfully even in protecting Jewish rules governing the Temple's porch and still became entangled by the priesthood because of death inside the temple, that he did not commit.
Why because because the leader was not only protecting his son but trying to protect his nation becauses of the masses that followed him. Paul, Peter and John caused a crowd to gather. Not a crime but a riot potential. Which when speaking in the synagogues cause not only a riot but stoning and beatings.
Paul writing Timothy who is pastoring not to entangled by the world and Paul finding himself in trouble and under persecution. He perhaps seeing his error but its blessing that comes from persecution coming the same as small groups of churches ministering and leading people to Christ.
We should be thanking God for his word that Triumphs in the church world today. Despite criminals that try to use the church for a shield God's word speaks with power more clearly then any devil could. They come with customs of sheep wool but rage in devil dens outside the church and in the world looking for lamb's to entrap. Timothy was still young in the Lord. His work relied on him to minister in the church. Christ victory came with the resurrection based on prophesy.
Dear Heavenly Thank you for your word of truth that makes even wolves to repent. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
