Day 4 of Our Thanksgiving Countdown

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Philippians 4:16-20 KJV
16 For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity.
17 Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.
18 But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.
19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
20 Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Our want is not always our supply. My husband often says to me when I ask him what he wants for supper, whatever we got to eat is okay. Now if your the main cook and chief dishwasher those words can sound discouraging with the right tone of voice. How we come across speaking about God's supply may sound quite the same way. Yet in truth we do not want sitting at a king's table to sound glorious unless your dining before the enemies of the table of Daniel, and King David, or dining in heaven with the elders in the wilderness with Moses. Let's not forget dining with Jesus, where at a wedding choice wine is last, or feeding the crowd bread and fish is in abundance. That Jesus promises that God cares for the sparrow, he also cares for us.

Paul said to the Phillippian church he knows God will supply all your needs by his riches in glory, it does not mean it not food you rather not eat like Peter had a dream about. It means there is supply but it may not be your first choice of your desire of supply.

It interesting what God supplies might not be what you thought you needed. Then you find out what you complained about is exactly what you needed for God's honor and glory, you know God supplies all your needs for his glory and honor.

Human sacrifice for his glory done by God's compassion for the people of the world. We did not know are need of Jesus til he was crucified. For two days no healer, no miracles and the world had been shakened. On the third day Christ arose. The need of him was known as the preaching of the disciples began and they told how he was the sacrifice for our sin and rose again the third day.

For God so loved the world he gave his Son as a sacrifice the world does not believe they need. They believe they can stand before God and proclaim their righteousness by what they believe in, such as their good works and can buy there own salvation of deserving an entrance to heaven. Not only believing in their own power but they are worthy to declare their purity. It is a lie straight from the devil you going to a pit called eternal lake of fire.

God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believer would not perish and have eternal life (John 3:16). For all have sin and fall short of the glory of God(Roman 3:21). Wages of sin is death, the gift God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord(Romans 6:23).

We need Jesus and he is our supply for salvation for the entire world if we receive his word. His word being our bond from Genesis to Revelations. That word became flesh(John 1:14) Jesus is the word of life. No other human has that title.

Not receiving his word his Son sends you to hell. Your works will never measure up for your salvation, works should come because of your salvation. You can not get through the pearly gate with out Jesus as your key. Ask Jesus to be the light and salvation of your heart today. Ask him to come on and teach you all about him. Our salvation is for God's glory. His supply is for his glory.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for your Son Jesus and making him by faith to be our supply of salvation despite our ignorance of your grace of love, In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: 2 Timothy 2:10-26 KJV
10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:
12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
