Day 3 of Our Thanksgiving Countdown 11/03/2023
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisMatthew 15:32-39 KJV
32 Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.
33 And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude?
34 And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes.
35 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground.
36 And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
37 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full.
38 And they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and children.
39 And he sent away the multitude, and took ship, and came into the coasts of Magdala.
Cheese is a mold but bad mold on cheese is green or black. It part of the process of making cheese not how it is shape but aged. Why some do not know this but something learned when talking to old dairy farmers or people from Wiscousin. If Cheese was produced/aged in my state I have abundance of it some how, because I grew with it being a large staple of my diet. Everything taste better with cheese. Though I have fished it not a large part of my diet. Fish was a large staple in Jesus day. Fish smoked and salted would not keep to long especially in the desert. You and I buy a cooler and put our lunch or meal in it with ice for preservation and hope it holds til dinner time.
Now imagine you have been fasting three days while listening to Jesus in the desert. Jesus ask his disciples how many loaves of bread did they have and how many fish. Now the people were hungry and disciples said seven loaves and a few fish. Jesus had the people to sit down about four thousand including woman and children.
Jesus gave thanks for the meal and began to divide the loaves. It feed all four thousand people and they picked up seven basket fulls of food fragments. I seen poor people take the little they had and it stretched to feed a small crowd but to feed four thousand that is a miracle done by Jesus. It take faith to believe food can feed a crowd with leftovers remaining, but to feed a multitude it takes a miracle, an act of God. It testified to the people who Jesus was.
Jesus only gave God thanks before breaking the fish and loaves of bread into pieces. With God all thing are possible. What always got me about this story there was left overs to share on the journey home or with Jesus as the traveled by ship to the next town.
Giving to Jesus out your abundance will feed the multitude. Many food pantries are collecting food this time of year. I think many collect because many people that are rich give at this time of year, but many poor people and middle class give there changes for those in need. Some people save there change all year, while others loose their change in the parking lot.
Remember the your local churches and charity organizations that feed the multitude of people that come to there door. Feed the homeless and cry forvthe starving of America. It not volumn you can give by yourself, it the volumn of many giving that feeds the multitude unless you are Jesus.
Jesus set an awesome example of taking what you have allow God to multiple it. God do a work but he desire us to give what we have too. God sololy provide Istael with manna ane quail. Jesus show what taking a little could do. Love the hurting this time of year.
Dear Heavenly Father we thank you and praise you for your supply, in Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: 1 Corinthians 16:1-2 KJV
1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.
2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
