Day 1 of Our Thanksgiving Countdown 11/01/2023
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisEphesians 3:14-21 KJV
14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.Today is all Saints Day. This is more traditional Catholic or I think also Methodist celebration then many mainstream churches. Without the saints and maryters before we were born we would not have the written word, or knowledge our Messiah lives. With our those that have gone before us in faith we would have never known God's marvelous grace to the world.
We pray today not for dead above but for the living that are persecuted and face certain death. We pray the Word of God will spread everywhere not for controlling of people's choice but to set them free from sin and division sin cause between us and our Creator. We thank God for all that gone before us knowing they set a high standard of faith before even us with potential persecution and death to hold to the cross being risen with Christ in faith, knowing the prize of eternity is to be at home with God(Father, Son and Holy Spirit). To live our life walking by God's Holy Spirit, living by God's word with Christ fullness living in our heart dining with us on manna from heaven.
I told my husband we made it with the last loaf of bread from the freezer. Now in 30 years we never run out of bread, sugar, flour, ketchup(almost) and butter before this month occurred. I never want to be this short again. God has a way providing and we still have food just not those items. It like faith, we may have abundance of faith and lack some minor essentials. There is a point there times faith is hard and certain parts like joy, even peace and love seem lacking, maybe one is out of wisdom, knowledge and understanding for the situation. There is always hope and faith. Why because God's Spirit performs miracles and solutions when as human we just out of sorts, but if we trust in him.
God's grace is sufficient. Believers, I have written 18 years and still going strong, God's grace is sufficient. I am still human with all the fralities that is part of being human. Saints in scripture we see their humanity as they struggle with faith. Yet these human's like me go through obstacles that try to trip our faith. Those things are storms and testing of what we learned in faith to make our faith stronger.
What is life of a believer but journey of a marvelous faith and hope in Jesus who we kneel at the throne of God and say thank you for those examples of the people of faith, even when they did not have it all together, their humanity testify how we often do not want to be like but their faith tells us who we desire to also trust and believe in, despite our humanity failing, that is Jesus. Our faith and even call to faith be essential for own walk of faith.
Our hope is better things for all believers. That their trials and tribulation will not be long but full of grace and comfort of the Holy Spirit.
Dear Heavenly Father grant your people strength in faith to be that living example of faith. Thank you for the saints who went before us carrying message of faith in Christ. In Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Hebrews 11:13-16 KJV
13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
