Matthew 5:14-18 KJV
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

A blinker light is a light that only shine off and on, a headlight shines all through dark night to one's destination. Blinkers are on only to signal left or right, but their light loose the direction when they are off. Drive with the signal light you will not drive down the road very far in the pitch dark. In fact it really only tells people the desire direction you want to go, it does not shine that way all the time. When the light is off it only a reflectant of what it was. But when it on it shines to the left or the right. A headlight never loose direction it says I going straight ahead through the night, traveling at speeds safe to travel by the road signs it reads. Those headlights use to only turn on by the driver of the vehicle now they turn on automatically when it is dark. You know kind of like that smile on one's face when the look so serious seems to come on when a friendly face is needed. That recognization of yep I see you and glad you are here look. Our face did not leave it just changed for a moment of pleasantries to lets get to work that direction I am headed in. Our face shines many things, from I am happy, angry, to hurt, hope, surprise, or relief. Then there that worried look at hard to get rid of on a storm driven night.

No one hides a candle under bush, they put in a room to aluminate the room so all can see by it. If you a candle/believer in Christ it is your duty to let your light shine before the world as Christ did. No we truly human, we are not God, but we should be more then blinker because we know the direction to head is towards Christ. If other see our hope, others then they to want to follow the light of faith, which is Jesus. The city of Jerusalme was to be light on the hill, but it was not always a light towards God. Christians today are not always the light they should be to others, but they are light of humanity with God. Meaning they learning to know God and his light of his Son. They growing in his grace and truth. Not always obedient to truth, but God's light shines forth in the world and in the heart of every believer giving off the hope of God living with man. Showing the possibility of God instructions being enough to light the endless pathway through the jungle into eternal life. How is your light shining today, is your faith in Jesus illuminated or is in hidden under a bush. Is you light like the flashers on the truck, you trying to shine, but keep having to change directions. Or are you like the headlight shining as bright as you can to illumnate the world to those that walk in the darkness of sin.

Dear Heavenly Father, Help us to let our light shine so others can see your grace in our life and the hope you give to us. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
